A firefighter found the kitten lying in a pool of blood. Even though the vet thought that the kitten wouldn’t survive, the firefighter, and his dogs, needed to give him a chance.

If you saw Azmael, the cat who thinks he’s a dog, today, you’d never guess he had such a hard start to life.

It all started when a firefighter was at work one day. He found a kitten lying in the middle of a road. This poor animal had lost a lot of blood.

Luckily, the firefighter was just finishing his shift. He was able to carefully lift up the kitten and take him to the vet.

The vet was able to stop the bleeding. Over the next few days, the cat stayed at the clinic. At first, the vet was doubtful about the kitten’s survival chances. But he pulled through. Soon, the firefighter was back. His wife, Nathalie, was keen to take the kitten in, even if he was very ill.

So the firefighter brought the weak kitten into their home.

At first, he and Nathalie were worried that their two dogs, Nimue and Liam, would not tolerate the kitten. But the kind-hearted animals realized that this kitten needed support and love if he was going to get better.

In particular, Liam, the white Swiss Shepherd, formed a strong attachment with the kitten.

The dog soon became the kitten’s nurse, constantly ensuring that the tiny animal was ok.

“They have a very special relationship. The kitten decided that our Shepherd was the best pillow in the world.” – Nathalie.

Over the next few weeks, Nimue, the family’s other dog, also became close to the kitten.

Thanks to Liam and Nimue, and the humans, of course, the kitten started growing stronger and stronger. Eventually, everyone was overjoyed when they realized the little guy was going to become a part of their family.

So Nathalie named the kitten Azmael.

And as the kitten grew up, his human owners noticed something very strange.

The family already had two other cats. They acted nothing like Azmael. In fact, if anything, Azmael acted more like the dogs. Clearly, he has taken after the animals that provided so much support.

In fact, Azmael joins Liam and Nimue on short walks.

The three have formed their own little pack. On these walks, Azmael seems keen to show his appreciation to the dogs for saving his life. For instance, if another dog is annoying them, he will chase them off.

Naturally, if the dogs need to go on a longer walk, Azmael needs to stay home. But he isn’t happy about this.

When he notices the humans getting ready, he sticks close to the dogs. In fact, the only way to stop Azmael from forcing his way out with the others is to distract him with food.

This is a truly breathtaking story of animal kinship.

The dogs could have steered clear of Azmael. But they, and especially Liam, could tell that the animal needed love to get through a difficult situation. And because they did, the three all now have the best of adventures.

Liam, Nimue, Azmael and all the others in their home are very lucky to have one another.
