Two years ago, a woman decided to take a trip to the local animal shelter in hopes of finding a pet to rescue. She knew how rewarding saving an animal can be and she was ready for the adventure.

There, she met Lulu the cat.

Lulu was a rescue that looked really sad and hopeless. She didn’t seem very happy about being in the shelter alone, and she could clearly use some company. And that’s what made the woman take Lulu back home with her.

Two years later, Lulu is a completely different cat.

Her eyes look happy and her appearance has changed altogether. She’s grown of course, but she has also turned into a family cat that loves her mom- and this is obvious.

Apparently, all this time the sweet rescue cat had been trying to find a way to show her mom how grateful she was to her for taking her home and giving her all the love she could never have imagined.

It took some time before Lulu found the perfect way to say “thank you”.

After spending lots of time together, the cat realized that her mom had a habit. Every morning she would put her slippers on her feet after waking up.

Lulu decided that this was a good way to show how grateful she was: she would help her with that.

So, the sweet cat found her mama’s slippers and brought them to her, one at a time.

Her mom was surprised at first, but she still put on the slippers to show Lulu that she had done a good job.

That was it: from then on, every morning, Lulu finds the slippers and brings them to her mom so she can put them on when she wakes up. It’s their ritual.

When the woman told her daughter, Kayla, about it, she didn’t believe her at first.

She had to see it for herself to be convinced it was not a joke.

“I didn’t believe her until she got it on camera,” Kayla told The Dodo.

And, for those of you who still think this is a joke, the video below proves it isn’t.

Lulu is a grateful cat and a caring companion, who loves her mama and wants to make sure she knows it.

“It really seems like she just want to take care of my mom, since my mom takes such good care of her,” Kayla said.

Lulu now is a celebrity and she even has her own Instagram account.

She’s only been active on social media for less than a week, and she already has more than 800 followers- this is quite something!

People are loving the sweet fluffball, and they have flooded her pictures with positive comments and lots of love.

“That’s right, we have to take care of our hoomans! You’re doing great Lulu,” someone wrote, while someone else commented: “This gives me so much joy! Thank [you]!”

We’re glad Lulu and her new mom have found each other and we’re sure that their unique relationship brings both of them immense joy!
