Adorable rescued pit bull can't stop 'talking' to new mom
Maisy is a pit bull and she loves to talk.
Her constant conversations melt her owner’s heart as she chatters the days away. A happy-go-lucky puppy, she seemingly always has something to say. Her life is filled with carefree moments, but this wasn’t always the case.
Maisy had a troubling reality before she was rescued.
Her previous owners not only mistreated her but planned to euthanize her when they found out she couldn’t have puppies. The first three years of her life were spent neglected in an outside kennel. After just one accident in the house, her owners banished her to the outdoors where she received little to no attention.
Her sole purpose was for breeding, but after failed attempts to impregnate her, her owners discarded her as completely useless. They decided she wasn’t worth keeping around.
Maisy’s mother, Marisa Elbert, revealed to The Dodo:
“At that point, they were like, ‘Well, she’s a waste of money to feed. She’s so ugly, nobody’s gonna want her. We’ll just put her down.”
Fortunately, a family friend captured Maisy before an ill-fate could consume her and took her down to a shelter.
Even though the dog was unsocialized and afraid, she planned to see if someone would adopt her. The shelter did their part and got the word out.
They posted a photo on social media to share her with the world.
Enter Marisa Elbert. Her friend immediately tagged her in a comment below the photo. Elbert had been undergoing some difficult circumstances of her own, which prompted her friend to reach out. Not only had she just lost her parents, but she had also recently lost her own dog.
Elbert had nothing to lose. She went down to the shelter to meet the abandoned pit bull. And what she discovered melted her heart.
Apparently Maisy had quite the personality! Elbert found out that the dog was quite the talker. In fact, she loved to ‘chat’!
Whenever someone talks to Maisy she responds with a ‘woo’-ing noise. It didn’t take long for Elbert to fall completely in love.
She commented on the special pitbull:
“Maisy’s woo-ing was something that made me adopt her. She does it when she’s extremely happy or excited. She’s so chatty and we talk all the time.”
It was undoubtedly a match made in heaven. Together, they’ve helped one another to recover from life’s previous pain.
Elbert has been able to give Maisy a healthy and happy home. And Maisy has been able to give her new owner the joy of a lifetime. Together they make a wonderful and fun-loving duo.
She knew she made the right decision rescuing Maisy:
“We have conversations throughout the day. It’s hilarious. The first day when I brought her home, we went down the driveway and I threw some balls for her and she was woo-ing on the way up, woo-ing on the way down. She was just so happy. It’s like she knew she was home.”
Elbert decided to document their adventures, along with her other pets, on an Instagram page where she has gained over 106 thousand followers.
