There are few things that are cuter than the unlikely friendship between two animals, just like the friendship that Keelo and Keno. It’s an absolute joy to see how a small, precious and fragile kitten becomes best friends with a big, heavy and furry dog, and their physical differences make their friendship all that more special.

After all, dogs and cats usually don’t get along very well – but when they do, it’s just about the sweetest thing ever.

Koda has had a rough past and actually arrived at her new family’s home as a rescue kitten.

At only a couple of weeks old, the adorable kitten could fit right into your hand! Even though she was extremely tiny and fragile, there was someone else in the family who couldn’t wait to meet her, a loving Golden Retriever named Keelo. The pooch and this kitten have since become unlikely best friends, and they do just about everything together in the house. They’re inseparable!

Keelo takes care of Koda as if she was his own child, and the sight will melt even the coldest heart.

Since Koda was so small when she was welcomed into her forever home, her owners and Keelo were able to see her grow up during her first few important months. The whole process is adorable, and the love between the two four-footers only grew stronger by the day.

The Golden Retriever also seemed to understand how vulnerable his best friend was from the beginning. The dog made sure to play around with her very carefully, and he also allowed her to crawl and snuggle with him without putting his own weight on her. Koda definitely is a curious cat and loves exploring the entire home as well as her best friend’s body – she needs to know which spots are comfy to rest on, after all. Sometimes you can see the kitten getting lost in Keelo’s fur!

One thing is for sure: this adorable feline has the best possible napping space and always chooses a nice lap of fur. Even when they’re asleep, these two can’t live without each other!

The family posted a video on the internet of their furry four-footers, and their playtime together when the kitten is a little bit older is definitely worth a watch. Koda tries to jump high so she can reach Keelo, but you can see that she can’t make it by a couple of inches! It’s funny and cute, and you can see how these two gradually become more playful with each other as the kitten grows stronger.

Nowadays, the pooch isn’t exactly as young as Koda anymore, and the kitten definitely has a lot more energy than the canine! However, these two play as much as they can together, and Keelo will gladly give up some of his rest to bring a smile to his best friend’s face.

In some newer footage, we see a fully grown and aged Koda. Even though she has changed tremendously, her adorable relationship with Keelo hasn’t one bit!

These two are still the best of friends and destined playmates.
