These poor kittens were found living among a trench of garbage, in a space where most people wouldn’t have thought to look.

Thankfully, someone did come across them by chance and could see that the situation was dire, so they called for help. The narrow alley, if it can be called that, where the kittens had been stranded wasn’t easily accessible. They had somehow gotten down in a narrow space between two concrete walls.

There was a picnic area behind a chain link fence, and a parking lot on either side of where the little darlings were trapped.

It’s a miracle someone saw them at all!

Hope For Paws came to the rescue, as a very well known non-profit animal rescue organization in Los Angeles, California.

“We rescue dogs, cats and other types of animals suffering on the streets or neglected in the wild. Through rescue and education, Hope For Paws works to raise awareness for abandoned animals.” – Hope for Paws

They take calls around the clock, usually being notified when pets need to be rescued from abuse, are wandering alone, or are in sticky situations like this one!

The rescue team for these little felines had to repel down a wall, dodge barbed wire, get through a narrow space, and dig through a sea of trash.

But thanks to a good rope, heavy shipping blanket and some thick gloves, they got the kittens back to safety without sustaining any injuries!

The rope was able to be tied to the chain link fence, allowing the rescuers to repel down safely to the kittens, and to help them get back out.

Once down between the two walls, rescuers had to dig through trash to get to the kittens who were hidden beneath some cardboard.

They didn’t look too happy about being rescued, and maybe didn’t have a lot of faith in people. But little did they know the rescue team was about to bring them in for a better life!

They got them safely into an animal carrier, and brought them up out of the cramped, dark space where they had been surrounded by garbage for who-knows-how-long.

Getting back up doesn’t look very easy, but you can tell it’s not the first time the team has had to do some crazy moves to get into a tight space.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

Hope for Paws has an amazing track record for animal rescue, and couldn’t have been a better choice to call for the person who found these kittens.

In a situation that would have been long and complicated for many, Hope for Paws managed to get to the scene and save all the sweet kittens in no time!

The team had them back to safety, and soon after they arrived, all five fluff balls were nursed back to good health and ready to be adopted by loving families.
