Golden Retriever grabs feline friend by collar to stop catfight in its tracks

Cats meowing at other cats are not a good sign. They usually communicate with each other through body language.

They communicate through their tail position.

It means different moods when a cat’s tail is upright, lashes from side to side, or when it’s tucked between the back legs.

Their posture can also be a form of communication with other cats, whether they have arched backs or they’re rolling onto their backs.

And, of course, smell or scent is a big form of communication among cats.

That’s why this communication between the two cats is quite unusual.

In the video, there are two cats facing each other on the steps.

An orange cat is on the lowest step standing by a container of cat food. The other cat, a white and striped cat, is two steps higher, facing the orange cat.

And the orange cat growls with a loud meow at the other cat.

It looks like the orange cat is a stray cat protecting its food. The white and striped cat probably just saw food and tried to eat some but the stray cat stopped it.

A catfight was about to ensue.

This cat was not going to share.

“Vocalizations made with the mouth held open indicate aggression: a growl, howl, snarl, or whine. These can be either offensive or defensive, and if not successful in de-escalating conflict cats may progress to spit or wail at their opponent before physical fighting begins with claws and teeth,” Lizzie Youens wrote on All About Cats.

The white-striped cat wasn’t being aggressive.

But it was answering the cat’s growls.

The Golden Retriever most likely knew this was likely to lead to a fight and it needed to stop the cats before the argument escalated.

The dog stepped in and removed the white-striped cat from the scene.

The Golden Retriever grabbed the cat by its strap and took him away from the other cat.

At first, the white-striped cat continued to meow at the stray but it was hard to continue arguing when you were being dragged away by someone else.

Now, normally cats and dogs don’t get along well. After all, they are different creatures with a lot of differences.

But sometimes, cats and dogs do get along, especially if they live together.

This Goldie had his kitty friend’s number.

“Many cats and dogs learn to live in harmony and even develop friendly relationships — leading them to play and nap together,” Anna Burke wrote on the American Kennel Club website.

These two Golden Retrievers and the white-striped cat looked like they lived with each other and grew up with each other.

The Golden Retriever knew the cat’s personality and the cat trusted why the dog pulled it away.

Because the cat trusted the dog, it knew there was a reason the dog pulled him away.

His friend was none-too-pleased.

The stray, however, was grateful.

The interference was a welcome one because now, the stary could eat in peace.
