Rodeo clown tries to pull a fast one on cop, but K-9 partner gets last laugh

If you ever go to a rodeo, you can expect to see a Rodeo clown, and these particular entertainers can do some pretty dumb stuff sometimes. In fact, acting stupid is quite literally in their job description!

JJ Harrison is one rodeo clown who takes his ridiculous job quite seriously, as he passionately proved when he stole a cop car and drove it into the arena.

The misguided clown rolled up in a Clackamas County Sheriff’s vehicle. He had the lights flashing and he was laying on the horn in elation. In the recording, it sounds like the announcer believes it’s really a police officer. He asks who’s in trouble. Of course, it was the rodeo clown mobbing through the arena in a stolen cop car!

The clown leaped out of the car with excitement, asking the announcer and the crowd if they saw his awesome entrance! Then the announcer asked him if he’s stupid. The clown admitted that yeah, he might be a little dumb. Clearly not as dumb as the guy who left the keys in the car, though.

Finally, the announcer convinces the exuberant clown to find out who the cop car belonged to so he could return it.

He rummages through the back of the SUV, tossing out an inordinate amount of pool noodles as he does. Eventually, he finds a business card. The stolen car belongs to Sgt. O’Neil.

Harrison doesn’t seem too concerned until the announcer reminds him of who the officer is.

As it turned out, the silly clown had met the Sgt. a few days before, when he singled him out and humiliated him by making him dance for the crowd. Though he admitted that the fact it was the same guy’s car made him a bit nervous, he ultimately wasn’t too worried about it.

The rodeo clown had thought ahead and hired his buddy Franz to be his bodyguard.

Franz always comes prepared, and so he brought a giant empty barrel (logical) and came sporting an oddly thick suit. He was taking his job seriously, too. He was prepared to defend the clown from the officer’s cold revenge.

The two high-five each other for their masterful planning skills. Just as they do, though, the Sgt. comes walking into the arena.

Feeling pretty secure with his devoted bodyguard next to him, the clown doesn’t apologize to the police officer. Instead, he taunts him by telling him he’s not afraid of him. The poor guy is so stupid he even tells the cop that he can’t do anything to him!

The clown was confident he thought of everything, but he overlooked one small but fierce detail.

Officer O’Neil has a formidable partner of his own. A K-9 police dog named Nero.

One moment Harrison was mocking the policeman and the next he was being chased by a German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois police dog across the arena.

Even though the rodeo clown had gone on and on about how unafraid he was, as soon as he saw the K-9 he leaped into the air and into the huge barrel Franz had provided him.

It’s a good thing the bodyguard had worn a thick suit because poor Franze was left to take the heat.

Nero the police dog soared through the air and bit Franz within seconds. As he sunk his teeth, he pulled and jerked the clown’s bodyguard to the ground in a single move. It’s like watching martial arts dog-style.

Before leashing Nero and pulling his enthusiastic partner back from the wriggling Franz, he let himself enjoy the sight before him. After all, every cop should take a moment to revel in his partner’s handiwork once in awhile.

All of the audience members burst into laughter at the whole scene. It was absolutely hysterical and Nero’s presence made it 100% top-notch. Of course, it was all just a performance to keep the crowds entertained.

This was just as Nero had expected, as the K-9 was no stranger to the entertainment industry.

Nero was also the star of the national selling comic book series Mik & Nero, a series aimed at engaging kids in reading that also teaches them how to be safe.

Sadly, O’Neil announced Nero’s “End of Watch” on April 30th last year, and the Clackamas County hero dog is now in Heaven. Even though he isn’t serving on the force with dad anymore, we know he’s still looking out for his community in the afterlife.
