Sassy officers dish out hilarious lesson to bad parkers in a way even 5-year-olds would understand

A kid that doesn’t color in the lines is normal! They are expressing their creativity and displaying their unawareness of rules! Adults who don’t park in the lines are just being dumb.

We have all been on the other side of someone’s terrible parking job.

Have you ever been in a parking garage, circling forever, looking for an empty spot? On your fourth lap, you see a free spot and you go over to pull in. As you approach, you notice that the F-150 decided that they were going to park three feet over the line, stopping anyone else from parking next to them. You continue on your search, quite a bit angrier.

Thankfully, the police department of Southlake, Texas got creative with their discipline of bad parkers.

A single parking ticket is one thing, social humiliation is another. When you combine the two, you have a cocktail that is sure to help any bad parker change their ways!

Attaching a coloring page to the citation, the police got a bit snarky!

It seems like one policeman had too much one day. On their twitter, they announced the new way in which they would be adding to the citations. A coloring page!

The coloring page adds insult to injury!

Under the citation is a coloring page of the police badge that a kid would draw on. This page, however, had a little something extra. It said:

“We noticed you had a little trouble staying in the lines when you parked next to a handicapped space… maybe if you practice coloring our patch and staying in the lines here, it could help you avoid citations in the future,” the police warn in their coloring page.”

Sass sometimes works!

You can ask any teenage daughter in the world today and they will give you the same answer. Sass works! When you need to get something done and people aren’t listening, add a bit of sass, and people are sure to listen. The Southlake Police did just that!

People really seemed to enjoy the department’s spicy attitude!

One person replied to the original tweet and said:

As a parent of a wheelchair dependent son I appreciate all you can do to keep their accessibility a priority. It’s tough to lift 90lbs out a door that you can’t open all the way
It seems that the papers are working!

They started on April 15th so the data should show if the violations stop!

The data should show if they have a reduction in parking tickets over the coming months! The global pandemic might cause some data issues but if it does seem to be working, maybe some other police departments should consider it!

Little kids and adults seem to still have some things in common.

Until the world is completely driven by robot cars, we aren’t likely to see too much change anytime soon. At least we are still going to see funny responses to bad parking jobs like this one for a little while longer!
