Scared dog couldn’t bear to be touched – then he learns to love again

Dog abuse can affect a dog in terrible ways, often leaving them scared and unsure of how to respond when someone shows them kindness. Fortunately, for one abused dog, someone was willing to show him the patience he needed to learn how to accept being loved again.

The dog, named Kayne, was rescued in Romania and brought to an animal shelter in that country. In a video posted to Facebook by Monica Mitreanu, Kayne can be seen screaming out in terror as shelter staff tries to pet him. It just goes to show how bad his abuse must have been and the look of fear in his eyes is heartbreaking. Fortunately, that was not the end of the story for Kayne.

While initially, there was some confusion about what had happened to Kayne, an update from Kerry Wollacott helped clear everything up. According to Wollacott, who works with shelters in Romania to help save dogs in that country, Kayne has been transformed by the love shown to him. In more recent footage, he is happily allowing someone to pet him.

Kayne is now living with a foster family in another country

Furthermore, Wollacott has revealed that Kayne was flown to another country to live in a foster home there. The family he is with now can give him the love he never had before and he can live happily ion his forever home. Unfortunately, that is not always the case with abused dogs. Some of them are still in terror-filled circumstances with owners who abuse them.

  • Open wounds
  • Multiple healed wounds
  • Untreated physical ailments
  • Hair loss, matted fur, and other skin conditions
  • Emaciation to the point that ribs and bones are showing
  • Difficulty standing and walking, including a limp
  • A collar that fits too tight

If you come across an abused animal, there are some steps you can take to help them. Start by calling your local animal control agency, or 911 if you do not know who to contact. Document the date, time, and specific details of the abuse you witnessed. This can help the authorities with their investigation. Some of the data you can provide includes photos and videos.

Kayne was able to be saved from his situation. Through the patience of the staff at the shelter, he was shown the love he needed to heal from his abuse. Wollacott posted a more recent photo of him where he looks healthy and happy.

“I’m sure you all remember the now famous crying pup, his video was spread far and wide his scream tugging on everyone’s heartstrings.,” Wollacott said. “Well here is little Kayne he’s just had a visit to the vets to have his vaccinations ready for him to leave Romania on the 17th Dec to start his new life in the UK.”

Here is the video showing the transformation of Kayne from a terrified pup to a loving dog that is no longer afraid of being petted.
