Service dog runs straight to stranger in airport

Cora the corgi is a dog that has gotten a lot of love in her life, it just came later than she deserved.

She is currently living the life that any dog would dream of, only it didn’t start off like that for her. Madison Palm is her current owner and rescued her when she was over 7-years-old and in bad condition.

Cora lived outside most of her life and was really underweight.

Dogs generally shouldn’t live outside, but breeds like corgis are especially not suited for it. She had lots of medical issues because she had never been to a vet, and she was severely underfed. On top of that, she had given birth to a few litters of pups in her life.

Madison originally wanted to just foster the dog in need, but we all know what that turns into!

Like most dogs, Cora was incredibly sweet and squirmed her way into Madison’s heart like she was a pro! Once that happened, the foster home turned into a forever home. Cora now lives with Madison in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Since she is such a gentle-hearted individual, Cora has started training to become a therapy dog!

Cora really helps Madison with her anxiety. Having her calming presence is really nice, especially because of how sensitive she is. Cora just seems to know when someone needs her help and presence.

It’s that sensitivity that landed Cora on the news!

The two were in the Seattle Airport and were about to hop on a flight to visit their mom in Alaska. During one of the layovers, Cora got up and snuck away from her mom! She didn’t go far, thankfully, and just walked over to a man who was sitting in a chair by himself.

Before Madison could even get Cora back, the man was already petting her.

She didn’t want to be annoying to other people in the area, but if the man didn’t mind, neither did she!

“Cora quietly tip toed away from me during our crazy long layover and plopped herself right next to a complete stranger. He gave her scratches, told her how cute she was, and proceeded to take a photo of her…”

After having a conversation with the man, things began to come together.

The man had literally lost his dog last night.

The man’s own dog had passed away the night before, and he was still hurting from it.

Cora walking up to him was a bright spot in his day, exactly when he needed it.

I’ve never had a doubt that Cora can sense those who are hurting and those who need companionship and love. She is a natural born therapy dog in every way. I am so blessed to call her my dog 💕
