We’ve seen cute small cats and they are really adorable, of course. Have you ever laid eyes on a potato-sized cat before, though? As it turns out, they exist and are uber adorable themselves.

A teeny-tiny feline creature with several health issues found a loving home recently and is now happier than ever.

When Holly met Potato, she was not sure she was ready to assume such responsibility.

“I had said ‘Yeah, but I don’t think I’m ready,'” Holly recalled of her initial response to taking on the tiny cat in an interview with The Dodo.

But then, she couldn’t sleep at night.

Something was telling Holly that this tiny cat needed her help and she knew she had it in her to do so. When she went to see her, it was actually a bad day for Potato. The poor cat was having a crisis, but Holly was there for her immediately and assured her that everything was going to be fine.

Potato was a “genetic nightmare”, as Holly put it. She was born with deformed joints, legs, and spine. She was also blind on top of it all.

Even still, Holly decided it was worth trying to help the precious cat out.

As they say “If you don’t love me at my worst, you don’t deserve me at my best”, and this was exactly the case here. Holly decided to stand by Potato when she needed her the most, and then she got to enjoy all the love this unique kitty has to give.

When Holly brought Potato home for the first time, she had no idea how to handle her because she was just too tiny. She even dedicated her home office to Potato so she could be comfortable while still being relatively secluded.

At that point, a serious decision had to be made.

Potato had to have surgery or she would have a poor quality of life. Holly just couldn’t bear the idea of watching this adorable half-bunny half-cat, all Potato suffer her whole life. So, she opted for Potato to have the surgery and, thankfully, everything worked out fine.

Little by little she also got used to her new home.

Not only that, but she soon became friends with the older cats in the household as well. Lady and Olive have been so protective of their younger sister and they do everything together. Jack, though a bit more rambunctious, takes care of his new little sister too.

“Jack is very well aware that he has a 3-pound cat chasing after him,”Holly said. “and I’ll even watch him slow down and turn and wait for her to catch up, and then keep running.”

Today, one year later, Potato has fully adjusted to her new family and she’s not the shy kitten she used to be anymore. She loves to cuddle with Holly and she’s kind of taken over the household.

Ther is no question that all the other cats respect her.

“She’s definitely a little bit more snuggly,” Holly explained. “Now she’s gotten to the point where she actually stands on my feet and that’s her signal of, like, ‘Hey, I want to come up!'”

Holly finds Potato really inspiring and we’re sure she hasn’t regretted her decision to take her home the least bit.

“I’m very grateful that I get to spend time with her and be her advocate and care for her and everything,” she said.

We are glad Potato and Holly met each other and we’re sure they’ll get to have many adventures as a family! You can even follow her on Instagram. Trust us, she won’t let you down. To learn more about Potato and her awesome journey, watch the video below.
