Every day, this recently adopted shelter dog greets her owner in a special way

For a dog, a loving home is usually all that they ask for, but for some, this is far from reality. Dogs find themselves in a shelter for a variety of reasons, including their former owners not being able to keep them or simply not wanting them anymore. In some cases, dogs end up at a shelter due to abuse and neglect.

For one dog, the fact of simply being adopted has left her happier than she’s ever been. She is so happy that she waits for her dad to get home each day so that she can greet him at the gate.

Eventually, her dad comes into view walking up the walkway to the home that they share. The dog is excited to see him and quickly jumps out of the chair she is sitting in. Running over, she greets her owner at the gate.

Wagging her tail, she goes wild as her dad bends down over the gate to greet her.

You can tell they love each other by their reactions

The cute dog’s reaction is priceless as she crouches down while her dad tells her to stay. As he opens the gate, he gives her the OK, and she rushes forward to greet him. Then it is all pets and tongue baths as the two of them revel in the moment.

Then, with a kiss on the head, the video is over.

Adopt, don’t shop

On YouTube, the video has gotten over 100,000 views and is a perfect example of how much a good home means to a pet. It is also important to adopt a dog from a shelter or rescue as opposed to buying a dog in a store.

By adopting, you free up room at the shelter for other dogs and reduce the number of dogs that are euthanized. You also give the dog you adopt a loving home, some of which have never had the opportunity to live in a home of their own.
