Shelter dog does adorable ‘happy dance’ after finally being adopted

Dreadlock had been at the Soi Dog Foundation’s shelter for four years by the time he was 10-years-old.

He had “horrendous” skin issues when he arrived.

His entire coat was filthy and matted, according to the mind circle.

But the folks at Soi Dog Foundation took care of that. The foundation was founded in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand.

They started out working to help the more than 70,0000 stray dogs and cats that were roaming the area.

They began with a spay and neuter campaign and began to rescue, vaccinate, and shelter dogs, as well as offer medical treatment and adoption services.

Since their beginnings, they went on to help more than 800,000 animals.

They have mobile spay and neuter clinics across the Bangkok area.

They assist with animal welfare during natural disasters and have taken on the Asian dog meat trade in the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, South Korea, and other Southeast Asian countries.

So, when Soi Dog Foundation sees a dog like Dreadlock, who was in awful condition, that has finally found a forever home, it’s extremely rewarding.

But they could have never anticipated Dreadlock’s reaction when he found out that he was going to be adopted.

They were extremely surprised by how Dreadlock departed from his usual personality to express his overwhelming joy about being adopted into a forever family.

“Dreadlock loves his cuddles and his walks, but he is generally a placid, quiet, older dog, who doesn’t get excited about much.

Imagine our surprise then at the reaction one of our volunteers got when he went to tell Dreadlock that he has been adopted and will leave soon for his forever home in the UK,” Soi Dog Foundation said.

Dreadlock’s reaction was probably the exact opposite of placid and quiet.

He started loudly barking and happily hopping up and down.

He looked as if he was doing some kind of happy dance! He got really playful and began running around with one of the foundation employees.

But he couldn’t stop barking. It’s as if he was cheering in delight! Dreadlock was overwhelmed with excitement and gratitude.

He was finally going to have his very own home where he would be warm, safe, well-fed, and, more importantly, loved.

Eventually, Dreadlock calmed down a bit, and the realization that he found his forever home sunk in.

That’s when he just started to cuddle and nuzzle up against the foundation employee.

Dreadlock’s reaction was so funny that the Soi Dog Foundation posted it on their YouTube page. More than 1.9 million people got to witness Dreadlock’s happy dance.

“Awesome, bless the person or family who adopted Dreadlock. At last he’s got his forever home and a family to call his own. God bless them all and enjoy Dreadlock,” one commenter wrote.

Some people said that the video reduced them to tears. Others said they couldn’t believe that it took so long for such a cute and sweet dog to get adopted.
