People who work in animal shelters never run out of heartwarming tales to tell.

As painful as some animals’ experiences are, it’s comforting to know that happy endings outweigh the heartbreaking stories.

It’s not always smooth sailing when a cat or dog is taken to a shelter.

Often, these animals show up scared, listless, or aggressively defensive.

There’s no blaming them for it, either.

Most of them have never known love and affection their whole lives, with some even falling victim to abuse.

Fortunately, some kind-hearted people patiently reach out until the animal begins to warm up and show signs of recovery.

You’ll be amazed at the development of most animals, thanks to the gentle persistence of the people in animal shelters.

Moreover, some families are determined to show these animals that happy homes exist.

The cats and dogs can finally thrive in these homes and let their unique personalities shine.

A perfect example of an animal getting another shot at a sweet beginning took place at the Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

NeNe Lewis recalled how a hesitant Pitbull would always give a low growl whenever anyone from the shelter would approach.

The dog was also noticeably thin, an obvious sign that it hadn’t had any food for days.

There was also no way of tracing the dog’s family as it wasn’t microchipped.

Days went on, and there were still no calls inquiring about the Pitbull.

But in those days, the dog also began to show signs of improvement. The fear disappeared eventually.

Staff in the shelter fell in love with the sweet Pitbull, who began to reciprocate affection by adorably asking for cuddles and belly rubs.

They even named it Cow because of its black spots.

From its unhealthy appearance to suddenly gaining weight, Cow showed signs of happiness again.

This motivated the folks at the shelter to continue searching for Cow’s family.

After a couple of months, they finally stumbled across a lead.

One of the people at the shelter saw an online post about the Pitbull and how it was stolen from its family. The shelter didn’t waste any time.

The people at the shelter immediately reached out to Cow’s family to let them know their Pitbull was safe and sound under their care.

The family drove down to the shelter, excited to be reunited with Cow again.

The dog’s reaction was too precious for words.

The minute Cow spotted his mom through a glass window, he started jumping for joy.

He was met with lots of hugs and kisses.

The family was so overjoyed at finally having Cow back.

It was at that moment that the shelter knew he was always in good hands with his family.

Cow’s reaction brought so much joy to everyone at the shelter that they couldn’t resist sharing the experience on the shelter’s TikTok account.

Cow brought so much happiness to thousands of people online, too.

What a joy it is to see animals reunited with the people who stay true to their commitment to giving the animals the love and care they deserve.

Let this story remind you to hug your pet daily and keep it close. (Don’t forget the microchip!)
