Shelter dog puts paw through kennel bars to “hold hands” with anyone who passes by
How long Mac had been roaming the streets of Pasco in Washington is something nobody knows.
She was discovered and rescued by a good stranger and was taken to the Tri-Cities Animal Shelter.
But she misses her freedom.
Mac is a black lab mix who would repeatedly try to show signs of not enjoying her time in a cage at the shelter by poking her paws between the bars.
She enjoyed extending her paw to hold the hands of passersby.
Many people who came into contact with Mac were moved by this, especially this particular volunteer.
Everyone loves her.
“She was a favorite of mine and many other volunteers,” Julie Saraceno, a volunteer at the shelter, shared. “I was hooked on her that first day she pawed at me through her kennel.”
In essence, Mac was well aware of her actions.
This canine was smart enough to know that pawing at strangers would draw attention to her and earn her more rewards.
Julie decided to do something.
On the 39th day Mac had spent in the shelter, she decided to record a clip of herself and Mac holding hands.
What happened next was beyond Julie’s wildest dreams.
The video ended up spreading like wildfire. And with this came numerous requests to adopt the adorable dog.
In the end, a woman traveled all the way from Montana to determine whether she and Mac would make a compatible pair.
And they undoubtedly got along.
Thanks to Julie’s kind efforts, Mac is no longer homeless. She now has found her forever home and a family to call her own.
Julie was ecstatic, in fact, she cried “happy tears.”
Viewers on the internet were glad to hear that Mac was finally adopted. Everyone is truly rejoicing!
Mac deserves it all.
In her new house in Montana, Mac is enjoying herself immensely.
She shares her home with other canines and even a horse on a large, vast property.
Mac is now finally free and must be the happiest dog ever.
She now runs around and plays like there’s no tomorrow.
It’s such a sight to see.
“This is wonderful!!!!! Thank you for saving this beautiful boy and giving him a loving forever home,” one commenter wrote.

“I saw your other vid and had to check if he was adopted. So happy!!!”
When Mac arrived at her new house, she couldn’t have been happier and leaped up on Julie, who was filming the scene.
Without a doubt, Mac appeared to be extremely appreciative of Julie for assisting her in finding a home.
She’s a smart girl after all!
Mac ended up staying in the shelter for a total of 65 days.
She moved from being confined to a cage to a happy canine in a big open area where she gets to live her best life and run wild with other lovely creatures.
