The thought of friends being of opposite qualities has always been a part of many great stories. I think, as people, we love the idea and the dynamic of opposing forces coming together. How they work, and what will happen? It makes things more interesting. With that being said, we’ve seen cartoons present this idea of big friends with small friends.

Piglet and Pooh, Mushu and Mulan, or Timon and Pumbaa. They all have hilarious relationships, but let’s get real. These are just cartoons. They don’t exist in the real world.

Have you heard of Louis and Comet?

In real life, in England, there is a Siamese cat who has become friends with a Pony. Louis, the Siamese cat, is six years old, and Comet, the Connemara pony, is five years old. They both live with professional horse trainer Emma Massingale in Holsworthy, North Devon.

The unique duo has known each other for a little over a year and loves to spend time together but, the one thing that they do that seems to make the relationship even more interesting is that Louis loves to saddle-up and go for rides on top of Comet. Massingale puts a saddle on Comet for Louis to sit on and also probably dig his nails in a little bit for stability.

Comet takes a slow pace so Louis can enjoy the ride without being thrown off.

35-year old Massingale shot the video of the two taking a stroll through woodland, crossing a bridge, and splashing through a stream before making their way back home.

Massingale says the townsfolk love to see them, “People often do a double-take when they see him out but lots don’t notice him, until he meows.”

Not only is Massingale a professional horse trainer but, she is also a professional videographer, and you can tell, as the video is done very well.

At the end of the day, the two love to nuzzle up together to celebrate another good ride.

So how did this all start?

Massingale said, “It all started when I was riding Comet and I would just tap my leg and Louis would jump on. Now all I have to do is tap Comet’s back and Louis is straight there. He doesn’t need anymore encouragement than that.”

“Louis rides whenever he likes really, sometimes just in the area sometimes he comes out for a longer wander.”

These two definitely have a deep bond and are proof that friendship knows no barriers. But as unique as Louis is, he’s still a cat in some regards. He despises water and will never go for rides if it’s raining.

There is an element to the video that feels very fairytale-like. The colors, the lush trees, and of course, the cartoon relationship between two unlikely friends.

Please enjoy the scenic ride with Louis and Comet below.

After, we recommend sitting down and watching some cartoons.

Please SHARE this with your friends and family.
