Old grain silo is converted into a tiny house, and owners open up the doors for a tour

If you’re in the market for a dainty 454 square feet of unique space in Lake City, Florida, we’ve got just the spot for you. It’s a tiny house made out of an old silo!

And while it’s a very cool concept, the house and video tour got positively dragged by commenters who raged about everything from the hideous music to the actual layout.

Frankly, we don’t think it’s so bad.

“I would have watched it all but the music made me turn it off. A nice walk around with someone telling us when it was built and what and where they got the materials…the very large American fridge freezer which looks right out of place and looks horrendous something smaller and concealed in a natural way would make it look so much better it takes up so much room looks horrible,” said one commenter.

Ok, so watch it on mute.

Like most silos, this one is situated in the middle of a field, and there are lots of drone shots to prove it.

People really loved those drone shots:

“Sir, please put down the drone controller and slowly back away.”

To be fair, these are some of the more polite negative comments we’ve seen.

What many people fail to realize is that the seemingly exorbitant $200,000 price tag of the house includes the 25 acres of land surrounding it.

“Set-up by an Equestrian, this ranch has everything you want on a horse ranch. Like 7,000 feet of “no-climb” horse fence, five complete separate horse paddocks, 30′ riding trail around the entire 25 acres,” the listing states.

You do have to deeply appreciate the rustic look to give this tiny house a chance though.

There’s a lot of reclaimed wood and metal and nothing modern about it.

The bottom floor appears to be the kitchen and perhaps the shower.

Commenters are correct that it is hard to tell where things are without commentary.

People also were not fans of the decision to use a ladder instead of a spiral staircase to get up to the second floor.

“I love silo houses but they totally missed the mark here. First, needs at least 2 bedrooms & not shard ones where you fold down those ugly orange/red couches. Second, you actually had the opportunity to make a beautiful indoor staircase winding up the side of the silo & instead you put in a trap door?!! Who wants a hole in the floor to climb up/down a ladder that empties into the kitchen??!!!”

It appears the house is still for sale and has never been purchased judging by the real estate listing, so perhaps no one actually wants that.

The upstairs living area is the closest to modern you’re going to get in this house and it is quite cute. But that’s simply the furniture.

It appears the house doesn’t have a bedroom, per se, but rather that the person living there would fold out the red futon into a bed (though some commenters believed there was a murphy bed folded up somewhere).

There were, of course, plenty of fans of the tiny house, or at least the concept.
