When someone earns a “golden buzzer” on a “Got Talent” show, you know they are extremely good at what they do.

Sometimes, when we get lucky, we come across incredibly talented people and we get to watch them grow successfully into stardom.

One of the most popular talent search shows in Canada is Canada’s Got Talent.

This competition aims to reflect the finest talents in the land, the best among which are usually given the “golden buzzer”.

Anica, a singer of more than 40 years, captivated Canada’s Got Talent host Lindsay Ell with her magical voice.

The woman, whose real name is Katey Day-Reick, hails from Grand-Barachois, N.B.

She is a veteran singer, but her life is far from a celebrated singer’s life.

She admits that she has struggles that made her life harder, despite her talent and potential.

She has been performing for over four decades, but her dream of making it big in the music industry is far from coming true.

She took a chance and auditioned for the renowned talent competition.

It was clear that Anica is a person with a positive attitude and it showed the moment she went on stage.

Her infectious smile and happy character exuded joy and people are awed at her charm and bubbly aura.

She is a woman who knows how to find happiness in the things around her and everyone in that room relates with her.

When she finally started her piece, everyone was taken aback by her powerful song.

She chose to sing her own rendition of Sia’s “Unstoppable” and boy, did it wow the crowd!

Anica was also playing her own guitar when she sang.

She strummed expertly while singing in powerful tones and melodies that left the people wanting more.

Her vocal prowess is a perfect match to the iconic singers from the past, and the audience could not believe the voice that was coming from the lady on stage.

The woman wanted to inspire her listeners with her voice and her story.

As she grew older, Anica have come to realize that it is not her fault if everything around her was not okay.

She was not to blame and this message is what she wanted everyone to know through her music.

“I was surrounded by a sea of dysfunctionality, and I could see the shoreline,” she said. “You have to truly believe in yourself and believe in what you’re doing in life and believe in your journey in order to reach the shore.”

It was not a surprise that Lindsay also connected with her at a level that she did not expect.

The host is known to be open about her life and she relates strongly to Anica’s story of struggle and finding happiness despite everything.

When the singer finished her magical song number, Lindsay did what she believed was right.

She hit the golden buzzer, which made everyone jump up from their seats.

The crowd was beaming with joy!

Lindsay shares what made her decide to give Anica the chance of a lifetime.

“As someone who is a survivor and has also been through so much in her childhood, I know what it is like to go through difficulty and be able to channel it into something like music,” the host said.

What an inspiring and talented singer, indeed.
