Singing group Impromptune does perfect ABBA flash mob at the airport
If you are a fan of 70s music, you will love the surprise a lady was given at a Scotland airport a few years ago.
It was in June 2015 when a woman was to fly from Prestwick Airport in Glasgow and she proceeded to the check-in desk as anyone would do before their flight.
It so happened that it was her birthday on that particular day, and someone had organized a unique surprise for her.
In the video below, we can see the birthday lady dressed in white, approaching the check-in desk. We soon realize something is not right when the two members of the airport staff that are there start singing.
We, the birthday lady, and the rest of the passengers who were waiting to be attended to eventually understood that these people are not in fact airport staff.
They’re actually singers with the Impromptune singing and performance group.
At first, there are only two singers dressed in black.
The birthday lady is almost shocked in the beginning, as the two women start singing the first verses of “Money, money, money,” when a man who is wearing a fluorescent-colored vest joins them.
They all sing together, while everyone who happened to be there was left speechless.
Of course, many of them took out their phones and started filming the whole thing- they knew something even better and more spectacular was coming!
Then, a woman dressed as a passenger comes out of nowhere and she starts singing with them.
They sing “SOS” and “Super Trouper” together, while at the same time the camera captures the birthday lady who is trying to hold back her tears.
Apparently, she’s a huge ABBA fan and some friend or family member who knew it decided to surprise her with this special performance.
After a while, a woman in a vest and gloves joins the group, singing to the rhythms of “Mamma Mia”.
This time their singing is accompanied by a little choreography and their performance makes everyone enthusiastic and impatient to see what’s next.
Guess what – two more “passengers” appear from the other side of the room and sing along.
They also take the woman in white by the hand and lead her to the “stage” for everyone to see this is all happening to honor her.
The group goes on to sing the “Dancing Queen” and both the performers and the passengers gathered there start clapping along with the “music”.
Of course, there is no playback music or anything like that – the singers perform a cappella, which is even more impressive and admirable.
After a few more songs, including “Waterloo” and “Thank you for the music”, the performance ends with the singers coming together in a group hug.
Everyone who watched their performance applauds and cheers for them, making sure they know their work is appreciated and that their act was really enjoyable.
Although five years have passed since that day, we are sure the woman still remembers the most special birthday surprise she’s ever gotten!
The video has gone viral with more than 1M views, and thousands of upvotes.
All the comments are positive and they come down to one thing: that music can brighten up your whole day!
