There is nothing more important than family, and especially, keeping family together. It’s something that Darryl Andersen knows all too well.

As a single dad raising three kids of his own, he hasn’t had an easy path in life.

However, he has loved every minute of his job as a dedicated father.

He has no intentions of ever taking a break either.

Now that his own kids are growing up, Andersen has adopted three more children from foster care and brought them into his happy family. Their names are Miquel, 4, Willis, 6, and Navaeh, 9, and they are all siblings!

When the kids were put into foster care back in 2016, all of them were still so young.

Andersen explained to KSL News that the siblings pretty much had a revolving door of foster parents.

“They’re very close, and understand, you know, they’ve been placed 16 times and in group homes and so all they had was each other,” said Andersen.

Miquel, Willis, and Navaeh met a lot of other people throughout their time in the system.

For five long years, they were placed with one family after another as well as in various group homes. However, none of the foster parents stuck around.

That’s why Andersen knew that he had to adopt all three of them.

The kids had already had such a sad start in life. He couldn’t bear the thought of them getting separated again and sent to live in different locations all across the country.

“There are kids out there in this world who don’t have a place to call home. When Christmas comes, where do they go?” asked Andersen.

They needed consistency in their lives so Andersen decided to do the only thing that made sense to him.

With the permission of his own kids, he stepped up to the plate and came to the rescue of all three siblings.

“One of my main motivations is, I feel, like the saying says, because I haven’t been given much, I too must give,” said Andersen.

With his own kids almost out of the home, he had the spare rooms available, so he brought the siblings back to live with him in his hometown of Vernal, Utah.

Now, Andersen is officially the father of six children.

I don’t know who is more relieved about Jaden graduating. Me or him!! Congratulations Jaden. I love you!!

He hopes that he will able to give the young siblings an opportunity for a better future.

With multiple decades of fatherhood experience already, Andersen is the perfect man for the job.

“I want them to understand that the past is the past, and they get to make their own future, and it all depends on them,” said Andersen.

He will provide them with the stability that they so desperately need currently. No young kids should be passed around from group home to group home 16 times.

Finally, they have something positive going for them. Everyone deserves a real place to call home. In the KSL News interview, the kids explained that they are very grateful for what he has done for them.

“We all love you more than the earth,” the kids said to Andersen. “It’s because you’re a good dad. We love you so much”.

The giant smiles on their faces say everything that needs to be said. They are so happy that Andersen is their new father.
