Meet Katie Price.

She had endured her share of things by her early 30s and after her marriage ended she fearlessly decided to pick the pieces back up. While the thought of not having a family may have shattered her, she persevered with determination. Embarking on an entirely new journey, Price moved in a new direction. She moved into a new home in Colorado and made one of life’s most important decisions: adoption.

Price had always maintained an interest in adopting a foster child, especially after dealing with fertility issues of her own.

With the help of a caseworker, Price found a 4-day-old baby boy in 2016. The boy had been dropped off at the hospital. With no name, Price called him Greyson and the rest was history.

She spent eleven months fostering the child before the courts terminated his biological parents’ right to claim him.

And then he was hers. They mutually filled one another with joy, and Price knew she had a beautiful son for life.

Price formed an outlet to funnel her elation while documenting her family journey. She started a blog and an Instagram page entitled ‘Wood and Grace’. She wanted to connect as a foster mother to others out there sharing the same powerful journey.

On her ‘About’ page she writes:

“I’m a Southern girl turned Colorado mountain lover. I build hospitals during the day, but in my spare time I am empowering women entrepreneurs and remodeling my home. A few years ago, I began my greatest adventure as a single foster mom and just over a year into fostering I adopted my son Grayson.”

But the journey didn’t end there. Little did Price know, it had only just begun! Things were about to unfold in ways she could never imagine.

While Price flourished in her newly found motherhood, she dreamt of eventually expanding her family. However, she knew she wanted to take her time and relish all the time she could with Greyson.

Just a month later she received a fateful phone call: it was her caseworker. Another baby had just been dropped off at the hospital, this time a girl.

The newborn faced a dire situation and needed emergency placement.

Price shared the thoughts running through her head:

“I know over the next 10 minutes and subsequent phone calls I made that afternoon, the phrase ‘I know I am crazy, but God is telling me to say YES’ kept coming out of my mouth.”

Fearlessly she took the leap and hours later the newborn baby girl, Hannah, had found a new mother and brother.

It wasn’t until Price had a look at the infant’s hospital bracelet that everything clicked into place. A miracle was literally unfolding in front of her eyes. Price noticed something jarring. The baby’s mother’s first name and birth date were the same as Greyson’s.

DNA tests confirmed all of her following suspicions, proving that this was not a coincidence, rather it was fate!

The two babies were indeed related, they shared the same mother and were half-siblings! There was nothing standing in this family’s way of blooming now.

Price spoke about the entire matter:

“That day I said ‘Yes’ to taking the Baby Girl I felt the strangest feeling ever. I don’t think I had truly until that moment felt an undeniable calling from God (or whatever higher spirit you personally might believe in). My brain was telling me to say ‘no’ because it made no sense and was not in my plans, but something inside kept saying you have to say ‘YES’. It is a sheer miracle, once in a lifetime chance… call it what you will, but it is amazing that my children found each other.”
