Sisters park 2 tiny houses next to each other and design the insides to show their unique styles
Sometimes, being close to your family is the best feeling in the world.
Alexis and Ashley weren’t close growing up, and they had their differences until there came a chance for them to live together.
They once lived in an apartment and became close, and that’s when they decided that if they could afford to have separate homes, they would live next to each other.
And so, they did in this tiny house community.
Their tiny homes may look identical, but their interior design is so different.
It’s apparent that they have individual personalities, styles, and needs.
Alexis’ interior design is adjusted more to her lifestyle as a mother, and as much as she wants to keep it tidy, living with a toddler would always make it a challenge.
Moving over to Ashley’s place, you can see that it is pristine with black, white, and neutral colors.
There are shades of dark blue here and there to add more color to the house, and the only color that really pops is her floating stairs leading to her loft bedroom.
The sisters also prioritized different rooms when it came to space.
Alexis is a single mother raising a toddler in a tiny house.
She needed more space in the living room for her daughter to play and for her to dance around.
On the other hand, Ashley loves cooking, so she had to prioritize allocating more space in her kitchen.
She has a full-sized kitchen and a lot of storage space for her cooking equipment, pots, and pans.
It’s also a plus that she has a pull-out pantry and spice rack!
Another difference is the size of their bathroom and loft spaces.
Alexis had two lofts in her tiny house: one for storage and the other for her bedroom.
The storage area gave her more room, especially since she had more stuff.
But she had to sacrifice some space for her bathroom.
It only had enough space for a shower, toilet, and sink, but it worked out for her, nonetheless.
Since Ashley allotted more space for her kitchen, she only has one loft, her bedroom.
It is spacious enough for her bed and cubby storage. B
ut it’s impressive how she utilized the space dividing her room from the main area as a “shoe wall.”
She also had a bigger bathroom since her living area only had a sofa bed.
Her bathroom is big enough to accommodate a tub which she said was non-negotiable since she’s an athlete and would like to take ice baths after workout or practice.
But the one thing that binds them together is the space between their homes.
The sisters created a little play area for Alexis’s daughter and Ashley’s dogs.
They have their designated space in their respective homes, but they ensure that both child and dogs still enjoy some play time outdoors.
Their decision to live in a separate home next to each other is a smart move.
Both get to enjoy their own space and prioritize their personal needs.
But having your sister next door would always come in handy, and having someone to run to when you need help feels less lonely.
