Owners give their Norwegian cats popular dog toy and put their smarts to the test

Since the dawn of time, there has been a debate over whether or not cats are smart; some people believe they are, while others think there is nothing but rocks in their furry little heads.

Cats are one of the oldest domesticated animals, it is believed that the first pet cat was about 12,000 years ago.

There are over 60 cat breeds in the world, and each type varies in intelligence levels.

One of the smarter breeds out there is the Norwegian Forest Cat.

They are a loyal and affectionate breed, and exceedingly fluffy.

One man wanted to prove that his cats are, in fact, smart by giving them a puzzle toy.

This toy is called the “Gambling Tower” made by a company called “Trixie” and was originally meant for dogs.

In this game, 3 separate levels are filled with treats and the animals have to figure out how to get them.

The two cats in this scenario, Roy and Moss (named after characters from the popular show ‘The IT Crowd’) had very different tactics for getting to the treats.

Moss, the cat on the left, almost immediately realized you have to pull on a cord to remove the levels which then drops the treats to the next level.

Roy, on the other hand, tried to stick his entire face into the toy to get the treats out that way.

After almost getting his face stuck, Roy moved on to another tactic.

He stuck his paw in and managed, with quite a lot of effort, to bring out one single treat.

All the while, Moss was working out how to get all the tasty treats out at once.

After he let his brother try to lift them out a few more times, Moss pulled the bottom layer of the toy out and the 2 were rewarded with a little pile of treats.

Inside the toy, however, was still 1 layer of treats and they had to figure out how to get those out too.

The cord that needed to be pulled to release the treats was on the opposite side of the toy as Moss, and he was a little frustrated at not being able to access it easily.

He tried shoving his face into the little hole where the level separator had been but quickly realized he wouldn’t be able to get to them that way.

Soon, he started to turn the toy to get the cord on his side of the game; he almost knocked it off the table at one point but quickly brought it back to the center.

He finally managed to get the cord to his side and, as soon as he pulled it, the brothers were rewarded with an even bigger pile of treats than the first time.

Of the two brothers, Moss is definitely the smarter one, but Roy is still pretty bright, he managed to get a few treats out of the top, it would have just taken him a lot longer to get them if his brother wasn’t there.

It seems that cats are very similar to humans in that we are all smart in different ways, and approach things differently depending on how we perceive the problem.

Lucky for them, they figured out how to get the treats out of this toy, they definitely deserved their tasty reward after all their brilliant thinking.
