Woman saves herself from a sexual attack by using clever smart phone trick

A lot of women don’t feel safe walking alone at night. Based on a survey conducted by a surveying firm in 2014, about 65% of all women experienced street harassment. Take note that the study has been done a couple of years ago. That number has probably increased by now.

The 22-year-old man attacked the woman and tried to choke her. As he was forcing to pull her pants off, he repeatedly told her that she’s going to have his child. He even tried to initiate oral sex.

Despite how scary the situation was, the woman was able to think of a way to save herself.

She wasn’t able to run because the man was holding him tightly. Plus, she was too scared. The man could be holding a weapon that can end her life in an instant.

The dispatchers were able to hear everything through her phone’s speaker. Frightened, the woman repeatedly begged the man to stop while crying.

The call was able to give them the woman’s exact location.

As soon as the dispatchers were able to extract the exact GPS coordinates, deputies were dispatched. They quickly reached the woman’s location and searched for her.

Fortunately, Sergio got distracted.

A passing vehicle caught his attention and the woman took it as an opportunity to escape. When the deputies arrived at the area, they came across the attacker. They arrested him right away.

Sergio denied the crime.

His mother spoke with him. During their conversation, the man shared that he was just set up. The woman was his ex-girlfriend who wasn’t happy to know that he’s dating another woman. He claimed that she even invited him over for sex.

The emergency SOS feature of the woman’s phone was her lifesaver.

To invoke the Emergency SOS on your iPhone, you can do what the woman did. Another way to do that is to press and hold your phone’s side button and one of the volume buttons. Do this for about two seconds or until the Emergency SOS slider pops up. Once it’s there, drag it to the right to call for help. This trick also works on some Android devices.
