Soldier’s ex-girlfriend sells his dog on Craiglist while he’s deployed

What would you do if you found out that your ex-girlfriend sold your dog on Craigslist?

For Robert Gabbert, a young soldier who was deployed to Afghanistan in March of 2014, nothing was more heartbreaking than finding out that his ex-girlfriend sold his beloved best friend on the public selling site.

We all know how strong the bond is between a dog and his owner. It’s too beautiful to describe and indeed, it’s something that has touched hundreds of thousands of lives.

Being a young soldier deployed in Afghanistan, Robert felt alone and oftentimes he would think about Baxter, his three-year-old Shiba Inu dog.

Until one day, he found out that his ex-girlfriend sold Baxter on Craigslist!

Poor Robert was devastated! It wasn’t just about the heartache; he was also worried about his beloved Baxter.

Where is he now? Were they feeding him? He knew he had to find his dog – fast!

When Robert and his ex ended their relationship, he was confident she would just return Baxter to his family. He never imagined she was capable of something so cruel.

She didn’t return Baxter; in fact, she had something else in mind.

This woman posted a photo of sweet Baxter on Craigslist, saying she wanted to get rid of the poor pup as soon as possible. Baxter was sold and Robert had to find out the hard way.

As soon as he found out what happened, he made sure that he didn’t waste any time. He had to know where Baxter was!

He posted a plea online.

He told his heartbreaking story and asked the people to help him locate the person who purchased Baxter.

He said that he didn’t know that his ex-girlfriend sold his beloved pet and that he was willing to pay anything just to get him back.

His post went viral and soon, he was able to track down the family who had Baxter.

They were also a military family that had small kids and according to them, they didn’t want to give Baxter back to the young soldier.

They said that their kids were already attached to the dog, and that they would feel sad if they had to return the puppy.

The people who read the story made sure that Robert’s plea went viral.

Thanks to the power of social media, they were able to change the new owner’s mind.

It seems that the new owners were able to read the comments and they saw how important Baxter was to Robert.

They changed their mind and agreed to return Robert’s beloved Shiba Inu dog.

After his battle to get Baxter back, Robert is now reunited with his beautiful dog.

He also helped the family to get another dog of their own.

They are all happy and Robert also has his own family now, including a daughter who is best friends with Baxter.

Indeed, it was a tough road in getting Baxter back but in the end, it was a happy ending that was well worth the effort.
