Hilarious Staffordshire terrier rescue screams like a human whenever he’s happy
Dogs are known for their barks. Dogs use their bark to communicate their emotions, including when they are happy or sad.
In most cases, the smaller the dog, the higher-pitched the bark.
But this is not the case with a Staffordshire terrier named Mo.
When Mo’s mom, Kristin Allen first met Mo, it was while she was returning home. She saw Mo in a park across the street and he approached her right away, his tail wagging happily behind him.
It was love at first sight as Allen took Mo in to stay in her home that first night.
It turned out to be a fated meeting.
At the time, Allen felt that Mo had come into her life for a reason.
They first met on June 17th, the day before Father’s Day, which also happened to be her father’s birthday.
Her dad died when she was only 16, so she felt like their meeting was fated.
But before she could welcome him into her life fully, she had to do the right thing. So, Allen took Mo down to the local shelter to give his owners a chance to claim him.
Visiting Mo every day, Allen noticed he got progressively worse as the days passed.
Finally, Allen had enough and decided it was time for her to adopt him.
“Listen, if his owners aren’t here by tomorrow, I am coming back for him and he’s coming home with me,” she told the shelter staff.
After adopting Mo, Allen learned something new about him. He had a distinctive bark.
It was after he met another dog that he let out a velociraptor-type scream.
At first, Allen didn’t know what to make of it. The trainers she was with at the time were unsure if the bark was a sign of aggression or not.
But Allen knew that nothing could be further from the truth when it came to Mo. From that point on, Mo and Allen have been on countless adventures together.
“I try to take him everywhere I can. I want people to see him, to understand that [pit bulls] are like any other dog,” Allen told The Dodo.
Mo has a heart made of gold.
In public, Mo’s strange bark is off-putting to some people, as Allen occasionally notices passersby walking the other way when they hear it.
But once they get to know him, all of their apprehension melts away.

Allen knows that Mo’s unique bark is just his way of communicating. While training, she gave him the space he needed so that he could feel safe expressing his individuality.
And while his bark might mean a lot of things, she knows that the affection he shows her is always real.
