Manny is a young Starbucks barista. Despite his young age and the fact that he’s got his whole life ahead of him, he has not been leading a happy life.

You see, the young man has depression and he’s struggling with that. He makes negative thoughts and he often doesn’t feel like waking up and going on with his life, but he’s been working on it and trying to get better.

Last month, one of his workdays started really badly, but he decided to get up and go to work and stop having bad thoughts. This actually was a very good idea because on that day life surprised him with the best gift ever.

Perri Saenz appeared at the Starbucks drive-thru and, instead of just giving her and her friend’s order, she started asking him questions.

In the video that was posted on TikTok, Perri can be heard asking Manny what his dream is. The man replies that he wants to buy a car, and this leads to the second question which is how much that car would cost. “$1,000” is the answer they get.

But Perri has one more question for him.

“What’s something you’re struggling with?” she asks, to get the reply: “I have depression I’m currently fighting with.”

At that point, Perri and her friend say goodbye to the sweet young man, telling him that they might see him around.

But this was not the end of the story. In fact, this was only the beginning of what changed a struggling man’s life forever.

Perri and her friend, after leaving Starbucks went to the shops and bought a toy car. She put $1,000 in the toy car packaging and put it inside another box.

Besides that, she also bought some flowers for him. And then returned to the coffee shop.

When Manny saw the car again, he had no idea what was about to follow.

First, Perri offered him the flowers and this made the young man tear up. As he admitted, he had never received flowers as a gift before.

But then it was time for the actual present. She gave him the box and explained that in there there was the money he needed in order to buy the car.

That’s when Manny burst into tears.

“This is just a sign from God that you’re meant to be here and that you’re so loved,” she told him while holding his hand. “Light will shine on your face again.”

Perri collaborated with the Dream Machine Foundation for this act of kindness in order to make a random person’s dream come true.

But the story doesn’t even end here. The foundation arranged a fundraiser in order to help Manny get a better car in the future.

How lucky this guy was. And it’s not even about the money. Given that he’s struggling with depression, the most important gift he received was that someone actually cared about him.
