Woman checks on 'empty' cop car pulled off on highway when he appears and asks for prayer

We can’t really talk about things in general.

Over the years, there has been plenty of news and stories about the undying issue of “police brutality”. Particularly in the USA, the issue about the brute use of police force exploded worldwide when the unfortunate incident about George Floyd happened.

It sparked a lot of arguments and debates about the authority bestowed upon the police force. Despite all the controversies, we can’t take away the fact that there are still a lot of police officers who are true to their sworn duty.

We just need to believe in kindness just like what this woman did.

An ordinary day that turned out extraordinary.

One day, as Kendra Powell was on her way to work one morning in Georgia, something stopped her in her tracks.

She spotted a state trooper vehicle pulled over on one side of the road. The vehicle’s trunk was open but there was no one around.

For some unknown reasons, something pushed her to become a little nosy about it.

She’s determined to know what’s happening.

Powell’s fully aware that she needed to be extra careful about interacting with the police.

Especially because of the racial tension going around the implementation of the law. Even if she meant no harm, she knew that the color of her skin can be used against her.

Gladly, that didn’t stop her kind heart. She still drove near the parked state trooper vehicle. When she came close with the vehicle, the state trooper appeared.

In a social media post, Powell wrote:

“I felt compelled, even with everything going on in the media, to stop and make sure he was okay. I never saw him, just the car. So, I creeped past at a snail’s pace and turned around. I pulled up to the car and cracked my window, hands clearly visible. I saw a white trooper come from the side of the car.”

Soon, she discovered what the state trooper was doing on that side of the road.

She went ahead and greeted the trooper with a warm “good morning!” Powell wanted to know if he needed help and most importantly to make sure that he’s totally fine.

All the ruckus about the police didn’t bother her a bit. Powell was there with no intention other than checking on if the trooper’s okay. Thankfully, nothing’s wrong as he was simply cleaning the windows of his vehicle.

“He smiled a brilliant smile and replied no ma’am that he was cleaning his windows. He showed the bottle and towels to me and I told him he had the good stuff. He chuckled and asked if I minded if he cleaned mine too.”

To protect and to serve – and to clean car windows?

Surprisingly, the trooper started to clean her vehicle’s window. She explained in her post:

“Highlight of my day…state trooper cleaning my windows with the good Rain X cleaner. Every passerby had a stunned expression on their faces. Then an elderly white couple stopped by and asked if they could have theirs done also. Lol, so he cleaned theirs too.”

But that’s not the only surprise waiting for her and for everyone that day.

It sure was an unexpected scene, however, what happened next was a powerful moment. Something that the world needs the most especially during these difficult times.

“The lady offered to pay him and he said no, just say a prayer for me…so we did. Right along 46 in the wee hours of the morning parked beside the road for EVERYONE to see, we all linked hands and had prayer. White hands, black hands, officer hands, young hands, and old hands…gave glory like never before.”

She decided to share the beautiful experience that happened on her detour and to no surprise, it quickly went viral.

It’s a type of story worth sharing with the entire world.

The story was shared by the Facebook page of Love What Matters and it made quite a good stir online. The inspiring story was shared 316K times, 946K people also “reacted” to it, and 56K Facebook users commented on it.

As Powell ended her post:

“I was late for work lol but it was truly worth it. Couldn’t ask for a better way to start my day.”

The world is still blessed with kind people and police officers. In this case, Powell’s kindness was met with kindness that she never expected.
