Is there anything cooler and more exciting than a birthday party? There’s great food, friends and family, and of course, birthday gifts! Usually, there are a bunch of cool toys and items wrapped in gift paper, but this little girl named Haley received a very special surprise from her stepmother.

The gift was so emotional and touching that it made Haley burst into tears, along with everyone else who was able to witness the magical moment.

Brigitte, Haley’s stepmother, actually asked her to take a seat before she handed over a couple of presents.

The very first present was a cute stuffed bear. Who doesn’t love a teddy bear? It was actually a special one from the Build-A-Bear workshop, and it came with a special birth certificate that would become obvious in just a second.

Right after, Brigitte also handed her a necklace with a beautiful and touching inscription: “My daughter holds my heart.”

The inscription was a teaser for what as yet to come, and the stepmom’s third and final gift was most definitely the best one.

Brigitte hands Haley the aforementioned birth certificate of the Build-A-Bear stuffed animal and then asks the little girl to read it out loud.

These Build-A-Bears are actually known for their ‘birth certificates’ where people can put their own personal messages on it. Of course, Brigitte made sure to include a personal message for the little girl’s birthday. The woman has always treated her as her own child, and Haley often calls “Super Mom” instead of stepmom.

Haley starts reading the special note on the fuzzy toy’s birth certificate, and it doesn’t take long before her eyes started getting teary.

“It is in the best interest of Haley that this child should be adopted by her stepmother … It is in the best interest of Haley that the name of the child is to remain the same,” the note says.

Brigitte actually wanted to become Haley’s stepmom for a long time now, but the family was in the midst of a legal battle and it went on for years. One day, the court finally agreed that Brigitte could actually have permanent custody over the little girl and make the adoption official.

“We had been pursuing the court system for 5 years to gain permanent custody after a long journey I filed for adoption and one year later it was approved. The Judge put in capital letters that it was in Haley’s best interest to be adopted by me her Step Mom or like she called me Super Mom,” she said on YouTube.

As Haley continues to read the special message, she realizes what’s actually going on.

“Brigitte’s petition for adoption should be and is granted. Haley shall, thereafter, and have all the rights…”

At this point, the little girl can’t continue reading anymore, as she’s completely overwhelmed with emotions of pure joy. The tears start to do the talking, and it’s an absolutely heartfelt and tear-jerking moment.

Mom and daughter then give each other a huge hug, and both of them clearly need a box of tissues.

These two weren’t the only ones, however, because the amazing video has made hearts melt all around the world.

“When she said: ” I love you Mom” I cried so hard.. I’m so happy for her!” one person commented.

“Oh this got me and I mean got me good too. My emotions are everywhere,” another said.

As everybody started clapping, this birthday party suddenly turned into an adoption party as well.

“This is the second time I have been blessed with [an] adoption I am a Mother of two amazing girls and couldn’t be prouder of them both,” Brigitte said.
