You may know him as the host of Little Big Shots, Family Feud or the guy who got the Miss Universe winner wrong that one year. But to his kids, he’s just dad. And it turns out that he’s an amazing father.
As a presenter, Steve Harvey is larger than life. It’s hard to imagine him relaxing with his family on the weekends. But just like anyone else, that’s what he does.
But you have to wonder how good any celebrity is at parenting. After all, their hectic schedules can threaten to make them strangers in their own homes.
Steve Harvey is one of America’s most popular television hosts. But he’s also managed to father seven children. Each one of his children adores him, as this very special clip proves.
Most of Harvey’s kids are now adults and have left home. But one year, they all surprised him on his birthday by turning up for a special edition of his daytime TV show.
Harvey announced to the audience that just this once, he had no idea what was going to happen on the show. So he asked his wife what was coming up.
Marjorie, Harvey’s wife, announced that there were many surprises coming up. She handed things over to his daughter, Karli. Karli said that every single one of them was going to tell him their favorite memories of their father.
Karli revealed that her special moment was Christmas when she was five years old.
Harvey bought her and her sister Miss Rocker bikes. As it was snowing outside, Harvey assembled the bikes in the house, and the kids rode them inside.
Then Harvey’s second daughter, Brandi, then told Harvey about the time when she was seven.
Harvey was performing comedy in Florida, so the kids got to go to Disneyworld. She also mentioned how fun it was to travel from Cleveland to Florida and stay in inexpensive motels.
After this, Harvey’s third daughter, Morgan, said that her favorite memory was of her wedding last year.
Harvey had walked her down the aisle and given her the most special father-daughter dance.
Then it was time for Harvey’s son, Broderick, to share his memory.
Broderick’s memory was of him and his brother smoking their first cigars with their father. He remembered struggling to keep up with his dad!
Next, Harvey’s son Jason recounted how Harvey stepped in after his biological father had left and opened up his heart to the boy (as well as giving him the Harvey last name.)
By now, Harvey was struggling to hold back tears.
Then Harvey’s daughter, Lori, spoke.
Her memory dated back to when she was 15 years old. She remembered how Harvey took her to their favorite Japanese restaurant and gave her a talk about growing up, dating guys and how he would always love her unconditionally.
Lastly, Harvey’s son Wynton shared his memory.
It was of the time when he was 13 and had an art show. He wasn’t sure if either of his parents would show up due to their busy schedules. But then, out of the blue, Harvey walked in, hugged him and supported him throughout.
But it wasn’t over yet.
Marjorie, Harvey’s wife, wanted to share her most memorable moment. But there were just too many for her to list. So she thanked Harvey for being who he is and for the example that he has set for the kids.
Harvey explained that this was his best ever TV moment.
When you consider that he has recorded 1,000s of hours of TV, that’s really something! He then went on to explain how he did everything for his kids and grandchildren.
By now, Harvey could no longer hold back tears. Nor could his children.
So Harvey is not just a fantastic presenter, but also an amazing father.
