Grandson’s viral TikTok account is devoted to heartwarming videos with his grandmother
Matthew Stewart and his 87-year-old grandmother – who goes by Grandma Bobbe – made news earlier this year with a series of Tik Tok videos. Their account now has 2.4 million followers.
Two videos stand out as audience favorites.
Salon day
During the quarantine shutdown, Grandma Bobbe – much like the rest of us – was concerned about her hair. She makes a trip to the salon every week under normal circumstances but hadn’t been able to go for months.
“She [was] kind of getting down, getting a little depressed because she didn’t have her usual salon day. So I figured I would try it out and see if I could maybe help her out a little bit and make her day,” Stewart told Fox News.
Stewart was a doting grandson, giving her a wash, blowdry, style, and even a glass of champagne. Bobbe was thrilled, especially when Stewart agreed to keep doing it every other week or so.
Speaking to the program Now This, Grandma Bobbe raved about her at-home salon experience.
“He made me beautimous. It was special. It was a special time and a special man. I love my grandson so much,” she said.
As for Stewart, he’s just happy to do whatever makes Bobbe happy. And the two have posted dozens more videos on TikTok and Instagram.
“I just love the fact that she is who she is. You’re not gonna change her. She speaks what’s on her mind. She can be herself around me and I can be myself around her.”
A grandmother’s love
In yet another viral video, the two took a moment out from goofing around to really share their feelings and it brought a tear to the eye of more than one viewer. It’s captioned “There’s nothing like a grandmother’s love.”
As the two put an arm around one another, Stewart asks Bobbe, “You know I love you, right?”
“I love you too, you don’t know how much. Look, I could not love you any more… Matt, you’re like my own son!” she replies.
And the moment is just too much for Bobbe to keep it together. She begins to get teary-eyed.
“Why are you cryin’?” Stewart asks her.
She has the sweetest answer.
“I’m crying because I love you so much and I’m so happy being around you and being with you…”
Of course, that’s enough to make her grandson tear up too. Now EVERYONE is crying, including viewers.
“It’s just tears of happiness of being with you and around you, and letting me be part of your life.”
The clip ends with them saying “I love you,” followed by a kiss on the cheek.
Sassy grandma
Even if you don’t like mushy videos, Matthew Stewart and Bobbe (who also goes by GB) have plenty to entertain you amidst their video collection. In fact, most of them are of GB being quite a hoot!
Let’s just say she doesn’t mind making things PG-13 when the occasion calls for it!
And she likes a good White Claw every now and then as well!
