Stolen service dog demands hug from dad the moment they’re finally reunited

For a true dog owner, there is nothing more valuable than their furry companion’s well-being. To them, no material, no matter how luxurious, would ever match the importance of their beloved dog.

Sometimes, it is better to lose a dog due to a natural cause than to lose them out of nowhere.

Wouldn’t you agree with me on this one? Let’s all admit it, a dog’s life (depending on breed) can only last for a certain period of time. This fact makes us prepared for whatever fate would bring to our dog’s life.

However, a missing dog is a different story. It can drive the owner crazy knowing that their dog is just out there, maybe starving or being bullied by other dogs.

They could be in a lot of trouble and the worst thing about it is you don’t really have an idea about what might be happening to them.

That’s exactly what happened to a dog owner when he lost his beloved service dog.

A tragic day.

Aaron Morris has just recently moved from Michigan to North Carolina. With him is his service dog, Jolene. With hopes that they’d be able to have a good start on their new place, fate brought them something else – something they didn’t expect.

It was a Friday when they decided to go to a Dollar General store. Aaron went inside the store to purchase a couple of stuff, all the while he was doing it, Jolene was outside. Little did he know, someone had been tailing them all those times.

That day turned into a nightmare.

After a short while of buying, Aaron headed back to his car but it’s already gone! Almost everything from his possession was taken along and that included poor Jolene.

For six long years, it was the first time his dog got separated from him. It didn’t just shock him but broke his heart into pieces.

As he wrote in an emotional Facebook post:

“This was my guardian angel. My best friend. I told her everything. We did everything I need her back in my arms…. This is destroying my heart. Why.. why my poor inocent little girl..😭😭😭😭😭”

All he wanted back was Jolene.

Aaron didn’t care about having his personal belongings back, what mattered the most to him was to be reunited with his dog.

Sadly, days went by and he heard nothing about his dog’s whereabouts.

It made him helpless and hopeless about his missing dog’s case. It was indeed a heartbreak because he had no idea about what tomorrows were about to bring.

A ray of hope.

Morristown Hamblen Humane Society in Tennessee received a brown Lab/pit bull mix from a concerned citizen with a good heart. The description of the dog pretty much matched that of Jolene’s.

When the dog was found, it was off the streets, wandering. However, the staff of the shelter noticed something from the dog. She was wearing a pink collar and tag, things that might lead them to her owner.

On the tag was a name – “Jolene”.

It also had a phone number to contact during such circumstances, they tried to dial the number but it was not available. It made sense since Aaron also lost his phone during the stealing incident.

In order to proceed with the “search” mission, the shelter posted a photo of the dog on Facebook. They had their hopes high that it will give them more leads in bringing the poor pup back to her rightful owners.

Finally, the day Aaron and Jolene had been waiting for finally came.

It was all thanks to the power of social media and the internet. Aaron wasted no time and quickly drove all the way to the shelter.

The moment Jolene recognized the face and the voice of her dad, it was then all hugs and kisses from the two. She even jumped right into his arms to show how much she’s missed her dad.

It goes to show how important dogs are to some people. They value them over everything else. Money can’t bring them genuine and long-lasting happiness but their dogs absolutely can!
