Stranger notices boy watching him play games on his phone – doesn't know woman is filming him

During long commutes, it’s nice to have some entertainment on board. 2 hours away from your destination? That’s a lot of time to put on those earphones and listen to your Spotify playlists, read a book, whip out the Nintendo Switch or do some mobile gaming.

This gentleman here came prepared for the commute. He brought the mobile games and the earphones, though it’s honestly anyone’s guess what he was playing.

Let’s see, he’s not playing in landscape mode, so that rules out Genshin Impact and Among Us, at least. Maybe it’s Pokemon Go? Or one of those bubble shooter games? Doesn’t matter too much, it’s clearly fun enough to keep him occupied.

And over to his left, we can see that it’s caught someone else’s attention. We all know how much kids love to watch other people play video games. Ever asked a grown up if you could borrow the PSP or DS when you were a kid? We’ve all been there.

The guy on his phone doesn’t seem to mind at all. Having a few spectators watch you play a game doesn’t hurt, right?

This little boy seems just around 7, and is just as inquisitive as you or me when we were his age. So, he’s playing a game, huh? Wonder how far he’s gotten, and if he’s doing good. Is it fun, at least? It must be, if it’s kept him occupied this long.

And perhaps, maybe he’d let him try?

Strangers are still strangers, obviously. But without saying a word to each other, it seems clear that these two are more than comfortable around each other now. Sometimes, you don’t need to say a word to get the message across, and this is another great demonstration of that.

“Well, why not let him try?”

This brings us to the highlight of this video. The guy has absolutely no qualms handing his phone over and letting the kid have a go. Hey, if he was watching for this long, it’s only fair to let him have a go, right?

It’s sweet, in every single way. We know how curious kids can be, and how they’ll approach just about anyone. Add the fact that public transport is typically a “keep to yourself” kind of place, it makes an unexpectedly friendly interaction like this that much sweeter.

So uhh, how are you finding the game, kid?

The whole scene was filmed by New York resident Kia Tatiyana. Isn’t it great that filming with our cellphones has never been easier? It lets us capture tender moments like this whenever we need to.

Sometimes, a simple friendly gesture can make hearts melt all around. There’s nothing quite like seeing people go from strangers to friends.

Wouldn’t all our commutes be a bit more fun if we were this friendly? That person sitting next to you on the train might be just a short conversation away from being your friend.

Heck, all of your friends started out as strangers to you, didn’t they?

Think about that for a second, and it might make your next commute feel a bit different. Below is the very sweet moment for you to watch yourself. A story this wholesome deserves to be spread around, so please click on the share button too!
