The best birthday gift is the one you don’t expect.

Birthdays are special occasions. Everyone wants to make it as memorable as possible, and one way is by having a surprise party. A mom from Alvin, Texas, had something similar planned for her daughter’s birthday.

She was going to surprise her daughter with a last-minute party. She had already placed an order for cake at a local store nearby. She was ready to surprise her daughter!

The mother’s name is Holly Grimet. Holly was planning a last-minute surprise for her daughter, Eva.

But when she arrived at the store to pick up the birthday cake, she was the one left surprised.

The woman visited the local store with her daughter to pick up the birthday cake.

She arrived at Kroger to pick up the cake she ordered. She was about to pay the bill but the staff said she didn’t have to.

Holly was confused when the staff suggested not to pay. The staff said to Holly that the bill had already been paid by someone else.

But Holly didn’t remember asking someone to pay for the cake.

Holly knew she hadn’t paid for the cake. That begged the question, who paid for the cake? She asked the staff who paid for the cake and whether they knew their number or name.

“I went in there and she’s like, no, it’s already been paid for. I was like, wait, by who? Somebody I know?” Holly Grimet

The staff didn’t have any idea as to who brought the cake for Eva.

All the staff knew that she was a woman and was once a mother like Holly. The stranger knew that her act would confuse Holly and her daughter. To clarify her intentions, she asked the staff to give Holly a note she had written.

The note contained an emotional message that dispelled all doubts.

The note left by the stranger mentioned her life and her child.

The stranger was a mother and had a son, Nehemiah. Her son would have turned 8, but sadly he passed away. She wanted to do something special in his honor. So she decided to pay for someone’s cake in his name.

The letter left by the mother read:

My son Nehemiah would be 8 years old today. I wanted to remember my son by doing good to others. I hope you enjoy your child’s cake and I hope your day is special. Hold your baby a little tighter today, watch them as they play, be patient with them, kiss their sweet little hand and tell them how much you love them. Our children are such special gifts! Hope your day is beautiful. Much love from me and my angel in heaven to your family.

The letter made Holly emotional and made her love her kids more than ever.

Holly went into tears after she read the entire note. She is a mother and knows the feeling. Eva also turned 8 that day. This made it even more relatable for Holly.

“Thank you, God for this gift. For giving me my sweet little girls to love on when this mom is lying in bed wishing she could do the same thing. How sad that people take it for granted” Holly Grimet

This birthday was memorable for Holly and Eva. They will likely never forget it. Not only was the occasion amplified, but it also left behind some valuable life lessons.

“I don’t think of losing either one of my babies ever. I can’t imagine life without them. And I can’t imagine how that mother must feel.” Holly Grimet.
