Tragically, there are millions of stray cats around the world who have to live in very dire conditions, every single day. Among those stray felines are entire families sometimes, who don’t have a safe and warm place to go to. They do still have each other, however, and the motherly love of a cat definitely can’t be underestimated.

The following story of a stray momma cat in Istanbul, Turkey, is definitely a perfect example of that.

A poor stray kitten had gotten very sick, but since they were homeless, there was no human owner around to help them.

That’s why the kitten’s mom carried her all the way to the hospital so that her baby could get the help she needed.

Photographs were taken of the two cats, and they’re just absolutely incredible to see. Unfortunately, we don’t know a whole lot about these two felines, but we can definitely tell that the motherly love here is immensely strong.

You can see a momma cat who’s very concerned, and the baby kitten is in her mouth. We can imagine it wouldn’t be the most comfortable position for the tiny cat, but it’s also the quickest way to get help. It also looked like the little one couldn’t even walk on her own anymore.

The two suddenly arrived at the hospital in search of medics, and the hospital staff was more than happy to help the homeless felines out.

Right away, even though this was a regular hospital and certainly not a veterinarian, they investigated the tiny kitten to see if they could find what was wrong. In the meantime, the momma cat was given some water, food, and some warmth. We can only imagine she was completely exhausted making the trip!

Her kitten was looked after, but it was definitely quite uncomfortable for mom as well, who had no idea what was going on. Luckily, the attention and affection (as well as the food) seemed to help calm her down.

The hospital doctors checked them both out briefly, and couldn’t find any life-threatening conditions.

Of course, they were then referred to a veterinarian just to make sure that they’d get the necessary care tailored for felines. As we’ve mentioned above, there’s not a whole lot of information about the current condition of the cats, although we can only hope that both of them are doing well now.

The photographs were shared by a Twitter-user, Merve Özcan. She called both felines a bit ‘mischievous’, and it definitely seems like an accurate statement. Her tweet with the photographs has gone viral in the country with a bunch of shocked responses and over 88,000 likes.

“Today we were in the emergency [room] of the hospital, a cat rushed to bring her offspring in her mouth,” she posted.

After seeing that her tweets went viral, the woman then posted a follow-up tweet with a picture of her own adorable cat. Apparently, the poor four-footer is jealous of all the attention these two other cats are getting!

“This is crazy. Animals are a little more intelligent than we give the credit for,” one of the Twitter comments read.

An amazing example of motherly love on display. Let’s hope that mom and kitten are doing well now!
