Stray animals have so many risks they have to avoid in order to survive.

If that’s avoiding speeding cars or finding their next meal it’s not an easy life. They have to only trust their instincts of survival and might even get into fights with other animals along the way. When those stray animals are rescued and taken to the veterinarian it’s not rare for them to have to undergo certain procedures to live a normal life. As for this pretty kitty he had to go through a complete transformation to live a comfortable life again.

Meet Potato!

Animal rescuers found Potato sick and abandoned in the busy city streets of China. When Potato was brought to the veterinarian he was diagnosed with a rare tumor called ceruminous adenoma in his ear canals and on his ear flaps. The vets began treating the adenoma but unfortunately, the tumor was aggressive and just kept coming back.

So the doctors made a decision for little Potato to go into surgery to have his ears removed.

Fearless Potato had his ear canals and ear flaps removed to prevent the disease from returning. So Potato can finally start to live his new life comfortably with a new makeover. Potato was adopted around the same time of his surgery and these new loving owners were so excited to have him apart of their family.

Instafamous Potato!

The new owners even created an Instagram page @no_ear_meow_potato just for him to document his recovery and new life.

The page has over 9,000 followers and fans adore his remarkable journey.

The best part is that Potato wasn’t the only kitty in this household, he has a brother named Horlick. Usually, cats get rather jealous when a new one enters another’s domain but Horlick was honored to have Potato as his new brother.

Cuddle Buds!

The pictures of these new best friends are almost too cute to handle.

Horlick is the best big brother around and has become pretty protective over Potato. The pair even snuggle together to fall asleep! During Potato’s surgery, it was actually suggested that the interested owners bring Horlick in to meet Potato before they brought him home. It can be tricky for two cats to enjoy each other’s company but Horlick had no problem casually sniffing Potato while he was in the hospital.

A Purrfect Pair

Potato lightly meowed at him but there was no hissing or scratching to prove who’s boss. Horlick and Potato welcomed each other calmly and Horlick gave Potato all the space he needed in order to get used to his new home.

These two became closer and closer every day and now have a powerful friendship.

Thankfully these rescuers found sweet Potato at the perfect time for him to get the care he needed! Potato’s second chance at life has been filled with love and we’re so happy to know he’s in a much safer place.

Potato now lives a life with lots of cuddles and toys, exactly how a cat should be living.
