There is a famous dog in Batumi, Georgia.

He is so famous that the local government bought him his own house and has a mural in honor of him.

Kupata is a stray dog who was adopted by the local community. The community loves him and he loves the community.

He’s also their full-time traffic officer.

Every day for the past two years, Kupata has been helping children to cross the street safely.

“Kupata gets angry when a car crosses by every time,” Tamta, a local resident in the same community, told The Dodo. “He takes his job very seriously. And sometimes he waits for children for one hour, to make sure that they feel safe in the park and they cross the street safely.”

Kupata is a very loyal dog.

In fact, he is not just a loyal dog to the children but he is also loyal to the community.

He stays where he is and doesn’t cross over to other streets.

That’s how loyal he is considering Kupata is a stray dog and doesn’t really belong to a specific family.

The local residents shared that Kupata arrived in the neighborhood as a stray puppy a couple of years ago and never left.

He used to sleep on the staircase of one of the apartment buildings in the area.

Now, he sleeps at Nona’s apartment.

Nona is his main person. She is the one who makes sure that Kupata is always fed.

Although, to be honest, Kupata doesn’t have a problem with being neglected.

The entire community cares for Kupata.

The community showers him with love.

In fact, the Adjara Tourism Department gave him his own doghouse.

It’s a green doghouse with a “Hollywood Star” that says People’s Choice and his name, Kupata.

They even provided him with his own eating station with separate bowls for his food and water.

And he’s so famous in Batumi, Georgia that they painted a mural of him on one of the local buildings.

They painted his portrait and his name with a crown on top of his head.

And now, because of a social media post, Kupata has become famous all over the world.

“He is popular not only in our country but in the whole World too. Since we published the video on how he is helping kids cross the road, many local people and tourists came to see Kupata and take some photos with him,” Kupata’s social media manager shared.

One of the reasons his social media manager decided to create Kupata’s Facebook and Instagram accounts is to highlight the plight of stray animals in Georgia.

Kupata is a lucky stray dog.

He’s luck because the community adopted him.

Not every stray dog is as lucky, though, and a lot of these dogs worry about their next meals and where they’ll sleep next.

These compassionate residents have used social media to highlight how stray dogs are not dangerous.

They’re just looking for someone to be their forever family.
