Stray dog is important part of the community by helping children cross the street

A stray dog is oftentimes deemed “aggressive” and “useless.”

They wander on the streets scraping for food to survive another day, that’s how a homeless dog’s day typically goes. Sadly, there are some people that are downright heartless that they even hurt these poor animals just to keep them away from their sight or from their property.

Thankfully, not all stray dogs are treated that way. In fact, there is a famous stray dog in Georgia that became an invaluable part of their community.

His name is Kupata and just like many other dogs not just in Georgia but around the world, he too is a stray dog.

A stray dog with a purpose.

Kupata’s community loves him so much and soon, you’ll know why.

Giving back the love he is receiving, this stray dog helps children on the road, particularly in crossing the pedestrian lane. He takes full responsibility for doing this and he is serious about his “job” – to ensure the children’s safety.

He guides the kids and positions himself between them and the cars, more like shielding them against the vehicles.

Whenever a car moves even an inch closer to either the pedestrian lane or the kids, Kupata gives them a taste of his wrath by barking at them. He will fearlessly stand in front of the vehicle and gives it an uproar of barks.

“I’m sure that he thinks that taking care of the children and taking care of our street is his job, ”Tamta, one of Kupata’s neighbors told The Dodo.

Kupata is doing it regularly and without any off days.

Who could blame him? It’s a dog’s nature to defend its owner or its family. In Kupata’s case, it seems like he considers the children as his younger siblings.

He doesn’t even go to other streets because he knows his spot is where kids are frequently seen.

This helpful dog became viral when someone took a video of him guiding the kids. The man who filmed him, Beqa, said that he only wanted to show everyone that stray animals are not as aggressive as other people think.

Beqa wanted to prove to everyone that even stray dogs are capable of giving protection and affection, like Kupata to the children.

The residents also admitted that Kupata is indeed one of those called “lucky ones.”

Because of what he’s doing to their community, the neighborhood made sure to reciprocate the love being shown to them by Kupata. So, to keep the dog healthy, they are feeding him regularly.

Soon, his body ballooned that’s why they named him “Kupata” which means “sausage.”

One of Kupata’s main caretakers is an old woman in their neighborhood named Nona. He sleeps and hangs out in Nona’s place whenever he’s not busy guiding the children on the road.

If there is anything that the community wants to happen, it’s for Kupata’s story to spread awareness about stray dogs.

While other people treat stray dogs so badly, Kupata has been treated the other way around. His community loves him so much because of his concern for the neighborhood’s children.

“Kupata shows us that even dogs can be very responsible and very loyal because of he takes care of children every day.” Tamta said. “I’m sure that he’ll do this his whole life!”
