In a war, nobody wins. There is always a loss on each side of the battle, and these are the innocent who cannot prepare or save themselves from the tragedy.

And these victims of war are the humans and animals caught in the middle of the conflict.

The war in Ukraine is a battle where these innocent people and animals are sadly trapped.

While families flee for safety, they have to leave their pets despite being brokenhearted because the circumstances are not favorable to the animals.

Traveling with pets is not exactly something anybody can do freely, especially in times of war.

Because of this, a lot of pets and animals were left in their homes without their human families to look after them.

Ukraine is a pet-friendly country with about 750,000 dogs and 5.5 million cats as pets.

It is unfortunate that they had to be left behind because people can only bring a little number of things, so they were forced to leave without their beloved pets.

Since then, organizations like Love Furry Friends that aim to rescue animals have been working overtime to find pets to save and find adoptive families.

A stray puppy named Misha is one of the thousands of pups left in Ukraine when war broke out.

He is so young and unable to really fend for himself, but wartime forced him to fight for his survival.

The little puppy merely wants a new family to call his own.

Tough times leave everyone desperate. And for a young dog who never knew how to really survive on his own, Misha is one helpless puppy who will cling to survival no matter what.

The poor dog was walking on an empty road. He was alone, hungry, and looking for someone to save him.

He is small and frail, and if not for the war, this dog would have been happily spending time with a human family.

Olena, the person behind Love Furry Friends, is intent on saving abandoned, homeless dogs.

She was driving by her village when she spotted a lone figure walking by the side of the road. It was Misha.

She stopped the car to see him better, then started following him wherever he went. She approached Misha and convinced him to come to her.

When Olena picked Misha up, the dog clung to her as if he would never let her go.

The poor pup looked desperately in need of help, and when he found Olena and saw that he could trust her, Misha never let go of her arm.

It was a moment of relief for Misha, and Olena is glad to have found this adorable dog.

The woman brought Misha to the vet where she was fed and given medical treatment for her diarrhea and fever.

Olena brought the dog home where she gave him his first bath ever.

Misha was with another rescue dog named Mona who was licking him as he was taking a bath.

It was as if the other dog was reassuring Misha that everything will be alright.

Eventually, Misha was given the best care by being fed regularly and having things to play with.

He would also watch cartons from home and have fun all day. He changed from one scared puppy to a happy dog.

Olena posted photos of the dog online so he can find a family who would adopt him.

The photoshoot was a success and one family decided to welcome the dog into their home.

Misha is now with them, enjoying every day with love and happiness.

Kindness can definitely make a lot of difference, and for Misha, the person who changed his life is Olena.
