Deteriorating communities are often a paradise for stray animals. How many times have you seen an abandoned puppy or kitten hiding in some ruins?

Numerous times – exactly.

According to World Health Organisation data, China has 40 million stray dogs.

Members of the Northeast Animal Rescue group from China are used to seeing dozens of abandoned puppies, but they can’t save every one.

However, one day they when were patrolling an area where many stray dogs reside, a little doggo caught their attention. The poor fellow was trying to signal to them that something was going on.

Because of their limited capacity, Northeast Animal Rescuers are focused on saving the young, injured, sick, and weak animals.

As you can see in the video, the place is crowded with stray dogs. They’ve made it their home. The grass is unkempt, and there are numerous empty ruins all over the place.

Except for furry habitats, that’s a street of ghosts.

Rescuers first saw an adult dog and followed him in the hope of finding other puppies’ hiding places. They hit the jackpot.

After carefully examining several animals, the team noticed a terrified puppy hiding in plain sight.

That’s right. The little fellow was afraid, but he was also trying to get the attention. Something weird was going on.

The rescue group approached the puppy, and he didn’t bark at them at all.

They could immediately see that the pooch was friendly, and it almost looked as if he was asking for something.

When the puppy started to walk, it was pretty clear that he wanted the team to follow him. So, they did.

A couple of minutes into following the puppy, and the rescue service found a cozy hideout. The place was slippery, and there were no other dogs in that little area.

Then suddenly, rescuers actually noticed another puppy lying in the corner. He was hurt, and that’s when everyone put two and two together.

The puppy that led them to his injured friend had been probably looking for help for quite some time.

Incredibly, the dog knew that the people meant no harm and he led them to his sick friend right away. Both doggies were hungry and thirsty. Fiona, one of the rescuers, was put in charge of two precious babies.

She gave them something to eat and tried to befriend them and gain their trust before giving them a proper bath. The puppies looked as if they’d never had a bath before.

Everyone was a bit nervous, but two pups handled the bathing beautifully. They were calm, and things went smoothly.

Fiona visited the dogs almost every day for more than a week before the team eventually took them to a shelter. There, the two friends will wait for someone to notice them and give them a warm, forever home. Fiona named the two buddies Rocky and Buddy.

Those names seem fitting.

A couple of months later, and Rocky and Buddy were nothing like the two dogs the Rescue team had found. They were healthy, happy, and playful.

Other people in the neighborhood also wanted to help.

One lady has already adopted three puppies, and the entire community has been feeding the dogs for years.

Sadly, Northeast Animal Rescue doesn’t have enough money to provide salvation to all the dogs they come across, but the community helps a lot.

Often, people collect money for some injured animal and buy food. The situation is quite similar at any place worldwide.

Nevertheless, the fact that so many animal lovers are willing to help is inspiring.
