Grateful street puppy runs up to rescuers to share his piece of bread

Show me an abandoned puppy and my heart will break into a million pieces, and I know I’m not alone. Pets are so precious for anyone to just leave behind when things get a bit inconvenient.

For most animals, being abandoned is probably the worst that can happen to them. But for this one little puppy, it meant finding a home that was perfect for him.

In a Youtube video, a poor street puppy named Gunnar was rescued with a piece of bread. The tiny boy looked extremely sick and weak.

“He’d been left behind. Still wagging his tail, still happy to see us, still wanting to share his piece of bread. We were there just in the nick of time for him,” Gunnar’s furmom shared.

It was heartwarming to see this little pup still so joyful and happy despite spending the nights scared and all alone. But because he looked extremely frail, the couple decided to bring him to the vet.

When Gunnar was found, the vet said that he was more or less around a week in since he was left alone in the cold. But despite the struggles, his “positive attitude” helped him make it through.

In fact, it didn’t take long before he was cleared to finally go to the foster.

He spent a week at the foster and then came home to his new family right after when he was 9 weeks old.

“He was tiny, tiny. Like, half of my arm. He wasn’t difficult to open up to us at all,” Gunnar’s mom recalled. “It feels like he was very thankful that he got rescued.”

Gunnar instantly became the star of the family. He was always curious and tried to discover everything he could.

Now fast forward to 3 years later, Gunnar had become big and strong yet his playful ways remained.

“He would run as long as he can. Run, sniff, bring the ball. Or a stone,” the furmom said.

The moment the family got him, he immediately showed an obsession with rocks. The good boy takes his time searching for the right rock and brings it to his humans.

“He’s definitely our little rockstar,” his human warmly shared.

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gunnar’s owners started fostering so the dog can have some play buddies.

According to Gunnar’s furdad, “He’s naturally friendly and inquisitive. Once he’s gotten used to them, he’s sort of always the one showing them around. He’s still the same happy, little creature.”

Just by hearing Gunnar’s humans talk about him, it’s pretty evident how much they adore the adorable dog.

In the video, Gunnar is seen playing with his new buddy like there’s no tomorrow. He’s truly having the time of his life!

Gunnar truly got lucky! It’s not all the time that abandoned pets find their way into the hands of amazing and genuine people.
