Couple’s sultry performance to “Phantom of the Opera” is breathtaking

A white mask and a rose- these are the trademark symbols of “The Phantom of the Opera.” It’s the world-renowned musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber back in the ’80s.

Through the years, it made a huge impact and influenced singers, actors, dancers, and other performing arts artists.

Who would’ve thought that the dramatic songs from this musical could be incorporated with ice dancing?

A firey performance on ice!

Meryl Davis & Charlie White are world-class US ice dancers.

According to Wikipedia:

“The pair are the 2014 Olympic Champion, the 2010 Olympic silver medalist, a two-time (2011, 2013) World champion, five-time Grand Prix Final champion (2009–2013), three-time Four Continents champion (2009, 2011, 2013) and six-time U.S. national champion (2009–2014). They also won a bronze medal in the team event at the 2014 Winter Olympics.”

In this video, they gave the audience a spine-chilling performance- the perfect way to wow the crowd with their routine to The Phantom’s emotional tunes.

They simply showed their high-caliber ice dancing skills.

They executed their dangerous stunts like they were nothing. For the record, they did it with elegance at such high speed.

Their stunts were so dangerous that a single mistake could put their lives and even their careers on the line.

The good thing was that they’re as talented as what their achievements say.

Their acrobatic stunts went smooth as silk and they swished their routine without acquiring a single scratch.

Expect nothing less from this skating-duo. They executed each stunt while maintaining the drama.

The Phantom of the Opera’s story revolves around a beautiful soprano named Christine Daaé. It’s about a mysterious tale of love and secrecy- and this ice couple performed this relationship brilliantly.

They are one of the best in their craft and there’s no denying that.

If it wasn’t a competition, people would most likely think that this couple was just showing-off. They were so good that it almost felt like they were born during the ice age.

They spun and swayed beautifully on ice.

They were also able to execute a jaw-dropping stunt while skating backward. Charlie lifted Meryl while sliding back and maintained both posture and emotions in a literal balance.

How can they even achieve such bone-breaking stunts? We can only imagine the training that the couple had to undergo just to perfect those acrobatic stunts.

The strength, focus, and coordination of this ice couple were out of this world and what we mean by that is that they were undeniably “World Class!”

They effortlessly transitioned from one routine to another. They were simply amazing! And yes, Meryl and Charlie are humans.

You won’t believe the level of coordination that they have.

The ice-duo was perfectly in-sync. It’s as though they were shadowing each other- like their bodies were controlled by some puppeteer. They swayed, spun, and shone as one.

He was so light on his feet with his jumps. They definitely made a perfect match- and fearsome foes for their competitors!
