Talented couple makes up on-the-spot swing dance and onlookers go crazy

Dancing is one of American’s all-time favorite things to do. The great thing about it is you don’t have to that good to enjoy hitting the dance floor. All it takes is that one special song to play and before you know it, you’re tapping your feet. On any given weekend, you can go to a club or bar and find people spending most of their time dancing.

There’s just something special about dancing. Not only is it a lot of fun but it’s also great exercise. Dancing has become such an important part of our culture that some schools now incorporate it as part of their fitness activity programs.

Sometimes, watching other people dance is just as fun

While not overly common, once in a while you see a couple on the dance floor with such incredible moves that people can’t stop watching. Often, duos like this have danced together for years. They know how the other moves, making it easy (for them) to come up with an on-the-spot routine. That’s what happened when a pair performed an impromptu swing dance event.

Swingtacular

Hosted by Dance Geek Productions, this unique event gives people the chance to meet other dancers, learn new styles and steps, and even receive constructive criticism to help them become better at their craft. Although every dancer has unique expertise and creativity, Swingtacular allows them to learn from professionals in the dance world.

It’s a different kind of dance class

Swingtacular isn’t an ordinary dance class…it’s so much more. Using a competitive format known as “The Jack and Jill,” participants learn how to improve their skills and strengthen their dance moves. It’s a fantastic event that’s helped propel many dancers’ careers.

Showcasing their talent

Victoria Henk and Nick King were two individuals who attended this event. They were there just like many other dancers, eager to learn and have their moves critiqued. As part of Swingtacular, everyone takes turns dancing. This couple first stretches and warms up. Then, they heard someone announce their names as being the duo to perform first.

Following the rules

Not only is this event a tremendous amount of fun but it also has some unique rules. For instance, all of the couples are required to dance both a slow and fast song. So, Victoria and Nick started with something slow. Oh, by the way, the other rule — dancers must improvise. In other words, they can’t come prepared to perform something they choreographed.

On-the-spot perfection

You’d think having to come up with something unplanned would make this duo nervous. But instead, they were 100 percent confident in their dance abilities and it showed. They started by sliding smoothly across the dance floor, followed by some hip action and some dips and twirls blended in. And that was just the slow song.

Talk about having incredible talent

Moving to the fast number, the dup chose Ciara’s song, “1, 2, Step.” Pumped and ready to go, they nailed it. You could tell this couple was having a blast without even the slightest hint of nervousness. Everyone in the room went crazy. Making their time in the spotlight even more enjoyable…they used different facial expressions to bring the music alive.

Some people are hesitant to add too much sexiness and edginess to their dance performances. But not these two. The crowd could feel the intensity of every move. With obvious chemistry between the two, they didn’t disappoint. They were so good that perhaps the pros could learn a thing or two from them.
