If you love tap dance, then you are definitely going to enjoy this performance!

With a quick dig on the internet, anyone can find that tap dance originated in the USA and it was the outcome of the fusion of several ethnic dances, mostly African, Irish, Scottish, and English.

Although it was once believed that these ethnic dances were brought together through the mingling of slaves, it was later concluded that it all started in the Five Points District in New York, where various ethnic groups lived together.

It has also been argued that not only did tap dance contribute to shaping dance performance, but it also inspired musicians at the time, thus influencing the evolution of popular American music in the early to mid- 2oth century.

But how is tap dance structured?

The most characteristic feature of tap dance is the sound of the metal tap nailed or screwed on the heel of the dancer’s shoes. This kind of dance is mainly accompanied by jazz music, and the most characteristic moves have to do with footwork, while there is limited movement of the upper body.

Now knowing all that, one can watch the incredible performance that follows having all the information in mind.

The video in question was filmed back in 2013 in Coudray-Montceau, Essonne, France, and we can see the dance group Caramelka tap dance to popular country songs.

The Caramelka dance group is based in Prague and it has been performing for several years now. So far, the dancers have performed more than six hundred times in seven different European countries.

The group usually performs in country festivals, social, cultural, company events, and more.

Only in 2020, they have performed in nine events, while there are upcoming performances later this year, too.

In the video in question, the group wears cowboy attire and starts doing some foot stops while clapping their hands. Soon, the song gets more upbeat and their choreography follows, as well.

Both men and women gradually start tapping, until a more fast-paced version of the song goes on. Then, the dancers start tapping faster, too, and their moves become more determined, quick, and clogging-like. One can see that their choreography at this point is based on footwork, while their body and arms almost remain still.

Throughout this performance, all the dancers are perfectly synchronized and their moves are always aligned- whatever they do.

Just when the audience has gotten used to this performance, the group’s routine comes to an end and a second group appears.

This time, the dancers are wearing black and red outfits, and they get ready to dance “Tell Me Ma”.

This song is even livelier than the previous one, and their choreography, consequently, requires faster moves.

Unlike the first group, this time the dance involves a lot of couple moves and this obviously makes their routine even more demanding.

Still, the dancers are perfectly synchronized and they execute the choreography with great skill.

The video has gone viral since it was first uploaded with more than 1 million views, thousands of upvotes, and dozens of comments from people from all over the world who admired the group’s work.
