Woman shares tasty pumpkin sangria recipe in honor of autumn
It’s officially October, which means everyone’s favorite season is finally here — fall! Time for cozy boots lined with fur, oversized hoodies, curling up with a good book, covering everything in cinnamon and nutmeg and drinking way too many hot beverages. Heck, we might even be writing this from underneath a pile of red and orange leaves right now.
One of the biggest, most exciting symbols of this wonderful season is the aesthetically-pleasing pumpkin! There is pumpkin muffins, pumpkin spice coffee, and pumpkin-scented candles. Not to mention, the season also calls for decorating pumpkins and picking them from fields far and wide. But did you know that pumpkin sangria is also a thing? It is definitely a thing — a very delicious thing!
One woman by the name of Lena Abraham recently shared her special pumpkin sangria recipe because, as you can probably guess, we love pumpkin anything. The best part is it only takes about 5 minutes to put together.
Here is what you will need:
-
1 bottle white wine, chilled
1 bottle sparkling cider, chilled
1/2 c. pumpkin pie vodka
1 pear, chopped
1 apple, chopped
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. pumpkin spice
Cinnamon sticks, for garnish
Now, here’s what to do with those ingredients.
Use a small plate — preferably shallow — to combine sugar and pumpkin spice. Mix it together. Then, rim your glasses with a piece of apple and dip them into the dry mixture. Set that aside.
Combine wine with cider and pumpkin pie vodka in a large pitcher. Then add the chopped fruit, stirring to combine.
After that, pour the mixture into the rimmed glasses and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
This recipe yields four servings.
“This sangria is awesome!” the woman making it exclaims. This sangria is truly a perfect autumn treat, which is best served at a fall-themed party, among friends at a cozy, intimate get-together, or even in the parking lot during a football game.
With so many classic flavors like apple, cinnamon, sugar, and pumpkin mixed together, it really is the most perfect treat for the season. And why it may be a chilled beverage, it will be sure to keep your insides nice and warm (partially because of the alcohol too, of course).
This recipe is also great for date night! Make it for someone you love and enjoy it as you snuggle up with each other by the fire, or while watching your favorite TV show (or a re-run of your favorite Halloween-themed film), or as a nice little post-dinner dessert. The ingredients are so sweet, it’s the perfect way to end a meal! If you want to go really over the moon, it can even be nicely paired with a slice of pumpkin pie, fresh-baked oatmeal cookies, or a pumpkin spice muffin. An apple or pecan pie can go beautifully with this as well — anything that can enhance those fall flavors and warm, autumn feelings!
Check out the recipe for yourself and celebrate the best season with the most appropriate beverage.
