Teacher makes remote learning fun with his hilarious videos

If you’re a student, you probably dread the idea of waking up early for school. And with today’s lockdowns, it’s even harder to find that motivation to get out of bed to study. Most kids would rather stay in bed and grab their phones.

A teacher from New Castle has found a way to get his students to feel motivated to start their day.

Brendan Jackson used his creativity and sense of humor to give remote learning a much-needed boost of hilarity. He produced not just one, but 30 musical videos to inspire his young students.

When the lockdown in New Castle was lifted, Brendan felt elated.

He used his feelings to create his rendition of For the First Time in Forever, a hit song from Disney’s Frozen. With his auburn wig, he sang:

“For the first time in forever, I won’t have to log onto Zoom.”

Unfortunately, a new lockdown was implemented.

Instead of feeling down, the teacher went back to his routine. He made a whole new set of daily lesson plans. All of them were in musical form, making his students feel less sad about not having face-to-face classes.

He’s done it all.

Brendan has covered songs by the Backstreet Boys and some Disney classics. He has changed the songs’ lyrics to reflect what’s happening in the current times. Honestly, every single video he did was super engaging.

In one of his most recent videos, Brendan can be seen doing his aerobics class.

While dancing hilariously, he explains his day’s lesson plan. He even encouraged the kids to get up and join him. It’s his way of getting them to start off their day with a bit of humor and exercise. With the lockdown, it’s important to get kids to be as physically active as possible.

In an interview with ABC News, school principal Andrew Pryce shared:

“I think the whole New Lambton South Public School community looks forward to Brendan’s videos every morning.”

The principal admits that the kids adore the school teacher.

He said:

“They’re widely shared amongst the community, but certainly in terms of kindergarten kids, I guess it gives them something to look forward to and see what their teacher’s doing in the morning.”

Brendan isn’t just great at making videos.

He’s a very good teacher. Technically, he’s very strong. The combination of his enthusiasm to teach and his skills in sharing knowledge makes him a really fantastic teacher.

His videos also encourage creativity among his students.

In the same interview, Brendan shared:

“Some of the kids even re-edit my video, taking the mickey out of me, whichI love.”

The videos are a great help to parents, too!

Brendan makes sure to let the kids know what’s happening for the day. That way, they won’t have to refer to their timetable each day, making their parents’ lives a bit easier.
