Adorable teddy bear look of fluffy “bear-coated” Shar Pei has people swooning

There’s no question about dogs being adorable. However, there are just some of them that will melt your heart in one go.

This guy is pure cuteness overload.

Who doesn’t love dogs?

I bet you also find yourself smiling once you saw a picture or video of an adorable dog online, don’t you?

There’s really something unexplainable about them that makes us go crazy in love with them.

With the countless viral stories and news about cute dogs, you’d probably think you’ve already seen the fairest of them all, wouldn’t you?

Well, I guess it’s time for you to think again because you haven’t seen them all.

Meet Tonkey Bear.

According to this furball’s owner, Christine Park, when she first saw Tonkey she immediately knew, “she was the one.”

Even though they are usually the last ones to go, this bear-coat Shar Pei turned out to be Park’s first choice.

โ€œWhen we got Tonkey, we saw the rest of the dogs in the litter and knew she was the one because she was so cute,โ€ she told TODAY.

This breed of dog originated from China, according to the American Kennel Club (AKC),

“This fascinating but challenging breed of ancient pedigree is steadfastly loyal to family, but standoffish with strangers. The Chinese Shar-Pei has physical characteristics that make him a one-of-a-kind companion and guardian dog.”

A living teddy bear?

If you haven’t seen a bear-coat Shar Pei before then you might mistake them for a battery-operated stuffed toy or teddy bear, and Tonkey looks exactly like that.

He’s also called “Tonkey bear”.

In fact, Park made her own Instagram account and shared adorable photos of her.

At first, she just wanted to make people aware of Tonkey’s breed and nothing more than that.

However, a lot of people who saw her photos online became instant fans and eventually, followers.

As of this writing, this furry internet star already has 283,000 followers on her social media account.

โ€œItโ€™s kind of cool to show your dog and get a positive response. People love Tonkey the way she is, as a puppy, but we also want to keep posting for the Shar Pei community.โ€ Park said.

A daily dose of unbearable cuteness.

That’s what you’d get once you browse through Tonkey’s social media account.

There, they share photos and videos of her routines inside and outside their lovely home in Canada.

She also has a furry sibling.

Max, a rescue dog.

Actually, the first ever documented Shar Pei in the US was back in the mid-1960s, however, the breed only became popular in 1973.

To save the breed from extinction, Matgo Law, a Hong Kong breeder, appealed to the US public to help him make his cause possible.

In fact, aside from Tonkey, there are other canine ambassadors like @jiffpom, a Pomeranian with a huge following on Instagram, 9.6 million.

He’s not just an ambassador but maybe the president of all Pomeranian dogs.

Adding to the list are @itdougthepug, a pug with 3.7 million followers, and @marutaro, the ambassador of the Shiba Inu breed.
