Teen daughter challenges dad to dance-off to prove he still "has it" – he steals the show
Chris Starkey was quietly working at home because of the quarantine when his teenage daughter, Brooklyn, approached him with a challenge.
It’s a dance-off challenge!
“My daughter just challenged me while I was working away to a dance challenge,” Chris introduced in the video. “I don’t think she realizes how much a ’38-year-old’ can throw it down.”
Brooklyn responded to his retort by exaggerating his age. Chris’ other daughter joined the trash talk and said he was 72.
Chris laughed before he told her to play the music.
Flo Rida’s song, “Low,” came on and Chris worked the “crowd,” all two of them, his wife and his daughter.
He did shift back to a responsible parent at first and told them to stay six feet apart and sanitize.
But then Brooklyn and her mom kept telling Chris to move over because he kept pushing Brooklyn aside, in an effort to show he’s still “got it.”
Finally, it’s time to start the dance.
At first, the two dancers kept up with each other’s energy. But you can totally see the similarities and differences in their personalities.
They’re both very competitive and determined. But while Chris was very silly and goofy, Brooklyn was very serious. She wanted to prove she was right.
But it looked like he was about to prove his daughter wrong.
Chris’ energy is unmistakable. He was performing each step with so much energy and gusto. Even a surprise move by Brooklyn didn’t stop him. He bounced back immediately and showed her how to dance at 51.
Can you guess who won in the end?
The people who watched it on his Facebook post loved everything about the dance challenge. Most of them have watched it multiple times and still love it every time they watch it.
Some said it was such an awesome video and it really made their day. And some said it was a great way to spend quality time with the family.
And there are even more comments coming in. It’s already gotten more than 45,000 views, even though the video has only been up for two weeks on YouTube.
And there’s even more on Facebook!
His video post has been shared more than 536,000 times and viewed more than 12 million times! Wow!
This has definitely encouraged them to make more quarantine dance videos and even challenge their viewers to do the same. It’s been an even battle with Chris winning some and Brooklyn winning some. And their competitive nature won’t let the other win for too long.
But that’s what people loved about their video!
They’ve even appeared on Fox News and they’ve even got a famous personality who watched and loved their video!
But the best part about their #quarantinechallenge is using it to do good for other people.
Chris has been using his new-found fame to do good deeds for other people.
He’s helped out medical front liners and the people quarantined in their homes with meal deliveries.
Chris has also been asking for donations of old iPad units that are no longer being used. A lot of quarantined elderly don’t have cellphones and the iPad will be helpful with keeping them in touch with their families.
We hope they’ll continue to produce more videos so they can do even more good deeds for others.
