It is quite rare that a car accident saves someone from a dangerous situation.

When we hear the word car accident, the first thing that comes to our mind is always something negative. The only thing that car accidents have brought over the years is the destruction of property and loss of life.

Teens remain the biggest culprit for car accidents among all age groups.

In the U.S, teenagers account for most involvement in car accidents, and in the U.K, car accidents are the highest cause of teen deaths. According to Edgar Snyder & Associates, 1/3rd of teen drivers in the U.K have texted or e-mailed while driving. Many people fall victim to reckless driving every year.

The situation of car accidents is the same across the globe, or maybe even worse. The legal age of driving in most countries is 16. Some states in the U.S permit driving as young as 14.

This story, on the other hand, is about an accident done to prevent another accident.

The story comes from Clearwater, Florida.

The event took place two days before Christmas.

A teenage girl who studied in a nearby school was left with no choice but to crash her car to save someone’s life.

Olivia Jones, the teen who studies at Clearwater High School, had to crash her 2003 Nissan Altima to save someone else.

As she waited for the red light to turn green, Jones noticed the driver next to her.

Jones was waiting for the green light when she noticed a driver next to her. She initially thought the driver was texting but later realised that wasn’t the case.

β€œI thought she was texting because she was looking straight down. And then she started seizing,” Olivia Jones told WTSP.

The situation could have turned ugly in no time if Jones hadn’t reacted quickly.

Jones did what any good smartie would do. She chose to crash her car in order to stop the other car and check on the person inside. The person inside the car was a woman who was also foaming at the mouth and shaking, hinting that she was having a seizure.

When Jones noticed that the woman was in severe condition, she decided to inform people around, but nobody showed any interest in helping.

β€œI opened my door and told people behind me that she was having a seizure, but nobody seemed to care or want to help.” Olivia Jones

When everyone refused to offer help, Jones decided to help the woman by herself.

Nobody was ready to help Jones, but she wasn’t stepping back because of it. She decided to pull her car in front of the woman and successfully stopped her.

β€œI pulled in front of her and let her hit the back of my car. She was kind of like seizing out of the car. I took her seat belt off. She had blood and had peed herself. I was on the phone with 9-1-1” Olivia Jones

The fire department came within two minutes and assisted the sick woman. Both Olivia Jones and the women were safe, but Jones’s car was damaged.

The back bumper of Jones’ car had a dent because of this accident. But she is happy because she saved someone, and she refers to the dent as a “memory bump”.

Jones is normally a good driver. She isn’t reckless like few other teenagers of her age.

When you’re a teenager and you get into an accident, the first thing that comes to your mind is your parents. Jones was also worried about how her parents would react to the dent, but she had nothing to worry about as she is normally a responsible driver.

β€œI haven’t gotten in any accidents that were my fault.” Olivia Jones.

While the story displays the positive side, this does not undermine the problem of car accidents. People of all ages should drive cautiously and hope that the next time an accident occurs, it is to save us from another potential mishap.
