Prom photos spark body-shaming from strangers so boyfriend steps up in the sweetest way

It’s okay to be insecure about certain aspects of yourself, but it’s not okay for someone else to make you feel bad about it.

The world would be a much kinder place if people were more accepting and supportive of one another.

Body shaming is never good for one’s self-esteem.

This is why it’s so important not only to speak out against itbut also to stand up for others who are being targeted.

This is not a new thing, but it still makes me sad.

We live in a society where it’s normal for people to say mean things, even when there’s no reason for them to be mean.

People are so quick to hurt others.

We’re all trying our best here on this planet, learning lessons and trying our best to leave the world better than we found it—and yet we do so much damage with our words.

This is what happened to a teenager that goes by the name Madison Haulter.

Haulter was the target of Internet bullies’ body shaming.

She wore a stunning, form-fitting pink sequin gown for prom.

Tre Booker, her boyfriend, sported a black suit and a pink tie and boutonniere.

They both appeared incredible.

And the two of them made the ideal couple.

With the caption “Prom with the loml,” Haulter posted pictures from her prom to Twitter.

Some people made the decision to use a period of their lives to sabotage the joyous occasion between the pair.

But once again, the internet saved the day.

Strangers jumped in and bombarded the comment section with kind words.

They were quick to help out this beautiful girl.

Haulter was praised for her stunning appearance and the wonderful moment she shared with Booker.

There are kind comments everywhere.

“I’m a big believer in not responding to hate with hate,” Haulter remarked. “I didn’t say anything rude to her and I kind of stopped my friends from responding as well.”

Not everyone who defended Haulter, though, was a total stranger.

Booker immediately stepped in to make his girlfriend feel better.

He made sure to defend his girl.

“You’re not fat baby. God made you just for me. You’re perfect. I could look at you all day,” he wrote with a sweet ring emoji.

There were, after all, total strangers who didn’t think twice to make her feel better.

People also referred to him as “soft one” for adoringly posting about his fiancée on social media.

Booker, though, was unconcerned. He declared that he wants for everyone to understand how much he adores her.

And their act of love isn’t simply a joke on social media. In fact, they are now happily married.

I’m glad to see that there are people out there who will stand up for others and be kind, even when it isn’t easy. It takes courage to be yourself and fight against the world, but once you do it becomes easier with each day.

It costs nothing to be kind. Always remember that.
